Synopsis Difference at the Origin by : Paul Manithottil
Heidegger S Way Of Thinking Has Left A Rich Legacy For Post-Modern Philosophers, Particularly For Jacques Derrida Who Has Greatly Influenced Philosophy And Literature In The Modern Times.Derrida, Like His Mentor Heidegger, Understands That In The Western Philosophy, The Meaning Of Being Has Been Determined By Metaphysics Of Presence. However, Unlike Heidegger, Derrida Does Not Begin His Philosophical Career With A Question On Being. Nor Does He Take Up Philosophical Positions Traditional Or Otherwise. The Purpose Of The Present Study Is The Critical Evaluation Of Derrida S Claim That He Deconstructed One Of Heidegger S Most Important Essays The Origin Of The Work Of Art By Which He Tries To Overcome The Metaphysics Of Presence. The Book Presents An In-Depth Analysis Of Heidegger S Question Of The Meaning Of Being, And Derrida S Critique Of Western Logocentrism And His Philosophy Of Deconstruction. It Delves Into The Origin Of The Truth Of The Work Of Art Studying The Essence Of Thing, Equipment And Work Of Art, As Philosophised By Heidegger. It Discusses Truth As The Strife, Taking Originary Strife As The Essence Of The Meaning Of Being. It Also Includes Derrida S Criticism Of The Restitution Of The Truth Of The Work Of Art, And An Evaluation Of The Differential Structure Of The Truth Of The Painting As A Work Of Art. A Comparative Study Of The Philosophies Of Heidegger And Derrida Has Been Given Under Non-Originary Origin Of Truth And Difference As The Origin .References Have Been Given At The End Of Each Chapter To Facilitate Easy Understanding Of The Concepts Discussed In The Text. Synopsis The Origin of Heresy by : Robert M. Royalty
Heresy is a central concept in the formation of Orthodox Christianity. Where does this notion come from? This book traces the construction of the idea of ‘heresy’ in the rhetoric of ideological disagreements in Second Temple Jewish and early Christian texts and in the development of the polemical rhetoric against ‘heretics,’ called heresiology. Here, author Robert Royalty argues, one finds the origin of what comes to be labelled ‘heresy’ in the second century. In other words, there was such as thing as ‘heresy’ in ancient Jewish and Christian discourse before it was called ‘heresy.’ And by the end of the first century, the notion of heresy was integral to the political positioning of the early orthodox Christian party within the Roman Empire and the range of other Christian communities. This book is an original contribution to the field of Early Christian studies. Recent treatments of the origins of heresy and Christian identity have focused on the second century rather than on the earlier texts including the New Testament. The book further makes a methodological contribution by blurring the line between New Testament Studies and Early Christian studies, employing ideological and post-colonial critical methods.

Synopsis The Origin of Species by : Charles Darwin
The theories propounded by Charles Darwin in The Origin of Species have had a profound and revolutionary effect, not only on biology but also on philosophy, history, and theology. His concept of natural selection has created eruptive disputes among scientists and religious leaders of his time and ours. The phenomenal importance of his brilliant work is universally recognized, but the present volume marks the first scholarly attempt to compile a complete variorum edition of The Origin of Species, covering all of the extensive variants in the six texts published between 1859 and 1872. Darwin's changes were extensive. His book grew by a third as he rewrote many passages four or five times, and in this edition Morse Peckham has recorded every one of those changes. A book of such distinctive dimensions, on a subject of such profound importance, will be of intense interest to historians of biology, evolution, science, literature, and cultural development. It will be an invaluable aid to the clarification and full comprehension of this complex and renowned scientific classic.

Synopsis Amazing Traces of a Babylonian Origin in Greek Mathematics by : Jran Friberg
The sequel to Unexpected Links Between Egyptian and Babylonian Mathematics (World Scientific, 2005), this book is based on the author's intensive and ground breaking studies of the long history of Mesopotamian mathematics, from the late 4th to the late 1st millennium BC. It is argued in the book that several of the most famous Greek mathematicians appear to have been familiar with various aspects of Babylonian “metric algebra,” a convenient name for an elaborate combination of geometry, metrology, and quadratic equations that is known from both Babylonian and pre-Babylonian mathematical clay tablets. The book's use of “metric algebra diagrams” in the Babylonian style, where the side lengths and areas of geometric figures are explicitly indicated, instead of wholly abstract “lettered diagrams” in the Greek style, is essential for an improved understanding of many interesting propositions and constructions in Greek mathematical works. The author's comparisons with Babylonian mathematics also lead to new answers to some important open questions in the history of Greek mathematics.

Synopsis The Origin of Species by DNA Coding by : Victor W Chang & Guoping Song
Who are we? Where are we from? These questions have troubled people for centuries. The textbooks have long taught us that human beings evolved from anthropoid apes. Today, a new science, molecular anthropology, tells us this: 7 billion human beings in the world share a common grand, grand…father, the Y-chromosome Adam, and share a common grand, grand…mother, the Mitochondrial Eve. After reading information in this book, you will be convinced that human beings could not be the result of evolution, sudden mutation, or in any way related to the anthropoid apes.

Synopsis Toward a Theory of Radical Origin by : John David Pizer
This provocative book addresses one of the central and most controversial branches of Western thought: the philosophy of origin. In light of recent poststructuralist principles such as alterity, différance, and dissemination, the philosophy of origin seems to exemplify the repressive, reactionary tendencies of much of the Western philosophical tradition. John Pizer aims to overturn this recent antipathy to the philosophy of origin. He ably summarizes poststructuralist critiques of that earlier philosophical tradition, then turns to five German thinkers (Nietzsche, Benjamin, Rosenzweig, Heidegger, and Adorno) who developed philosophies of origin that effectively anticipate and counter poststructuralist attacks. These are thinkers who, in one way or another, influenced recent generations of poststructuralist thinkers. Pizer argues, however, that rather than do away with the notion of origin altogether (as in the works of the most thoroughgoing poststructuralists), these philosophers developed theories in which origin is always “multiple and plurivalent.” In the writings of these seminal German thinkers, “origin” becomes “origins,” and “authentic origins” are “inherently plural and divergent.” A valuable, engrossing account of a wide range of thinkers and their complex relations, Pizer’s book recovers the notion of origin for an intellectual world that has come to value multiplicity, openness, and diversity.
