Synopsis Diagnostics in Ocular Imaging by : Mehrdad Mohammadpour
This book presents a new avenue in the field of ophthalmology and sheds light on the field of eye imaging. With the increasing availability of electronic devices and their important role in both personal and professional aspects of human life, there is a growing need for perfect vision. Ophthalmic imaging is a major tool for screening and documenting eye diseases in both medical and surgical fields of ophthalmology and is also of use for ophthalmologists around the globe. The number of eye-imaging devices has increased dramatically, however undiagnosed or poorly managed eye diseases remain a significant cause of ocular and visual problems worldwide. This essential guide addresses the need for a book that is dedicated to ophthalmic imaging, covering the cornea, glaucoma, retina and orbital imaging with updates on medical and surgical aspects of the topic.

Synopsis Diagnostic and Imaging Techniques in Ophthalmology by : Amar Agarwal
Advances made in diagnostic and imaging tech¬niques within the past years have revolutionized the clinical approach to, and the management of many ophthalmic diseases. Wavefront and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) have been incorporated as basic tools of refractive surgery, in the assessment of vitreoreti¬nal disorders, optic nerve pathologies, ocular tumors and ocular trauma. This book presents a comprehensive evaluation of current and emerging technologies used for clinical assessment in ophthalmology, as well as an in depth discussion of retinal angiography, both anterior and exterior segments, OCT, VHF ultrasound and other advanced imaging methods and techniques.

Synopsis Ocular Imaging by : George Asimellis
"This fifth volume of the series Lectures in Optics provides a comprehensive coverage of the field of Ocular Imaging, which is a broad field covering diagnostic instrumentation that aid into the production of biometric data and two-dimensional images of the eye. Aided by developments in digital imaging and computer processing, Ocular Imaging has known an explosive growth that has transformed ocular care in a very precise and accurate field, assisting both the diagnosis of several diseases, as well as the management, planning, and postoperative follow-up of several surgical procedures, leading the way to refractive procedures such as laser corneal refractive correction of ametropia. The field can be so broad that no book can possibly cover the entirety of this field. In this book, we start with the diagnostics (such as ultrasound and optical ones) that focus on the anterior segment of the eye. Then, technologies such as Scheimpflug, slit scan, optical coherence tomography, Placido and color-coded elevation topography are presented, with applications such as pachymetry and the accurate measurement of corneal curvature, shape, and biomechanics. Yet another field of imaging is aberrations measurement. Aberrometry is evaluating the optical system of the eye in its entirety and as such bears significant attention. Finally, the applications of ocular imaging are presented alongside the laser corneal surgical procedures for the correction of the refractive error of the eye"--

Synopsis Novel Diagnostic Methods in Ophthalmology by :
In the last 10 years, there has been huge progress in the general understanding of ocular disorders due to the availability and development of new in vivo imaging techniques, such as anterior and posterior eye segment optical coherence tomography as well as biochemical methods allowing rapid confirmation of clinical diagnosis.Introducing noninvasive diagnostic methods in ophthalmology led to an improvement in early differential diagnosis of conditions such as corneal dystrophies, dry eye disease, and various retinal and optic nerve diseases.Recent advances in diagnostic methods have also impacted the treatment methods. This book intends to provide the reader with a comprehensive overview of current ocular diagnostic methods, including the theoretical basis as well as practical approaches and usage in clinical practice.

Synopsis Diagnostic Imaging in Ophthalmology by : Carlos F. Gonzales
This book has been written for radiologists, ophthalmologists, neurologists, neurosur geons, plastic surgeons, and others interested in the evaluation of disorders with ophthalmologic signs and symptoms. It is designed to provide recent knowledge in this area derived from ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In the past decade, the advent of ultrasonography, computed tomography, and more recently magnetic resonance imaging has provided diagnostic images of the eye, orbit, and brain in a fashion that had been a dream of many prior to the develop ment of these techniques. These newer modes of diagnosis have replaced some previous techniques, such as nuclear medicine imaging and, to some degree, vascular studies and orbitography. There are three sections to this book. The first section is a discussion of the imaging techniques. The second is devoted to the role of these imaging methods in the evaluation of ophthalmic disorders. The last section, dealing with radiotherapy for ophthalmologic tumors, is included because the current imaging techniques are needed for treatment planning. We wish to thank the many people who have assisted us in preparing this manuscript. Among these are many librarians, secretaries, trainees, and photographers. Weare especially indebted to artist Peter Clark for his illustrations and to Mr. Martin Leibo vici, Associate Curator of New York University Medical School and Director of Health Sciences Library of Goldwater Memorial Hospital, New York City. Also, we wish to thank our families for their help and patience.

Synopsis Diagnostic Imaging of Ophthalmology by : Zhenchang Wang
This atlas is a pocket manual of imaging diagnosis of the orbital. It includes common imaging techniques, normal imaging features, abnormal orbital imaging of developmental diseases, injury, inflammation, lymphoproliferative diseases, diseases of the eyeball, post-operative changes, vascular diseases, tumors and neuro-ophthalmological diseases. While it particularly focuses on CT and MRI, it also describes other techniques, such as X-ray, ultrasonography and nuclear imaging. The book starts with an overview of commonly used imaging techniques of the orbit a concise description of imaging features of normal orbit in X-ray, CT and MRI. The following nine chapters explore different orbital diseases and abnormalities that are common in clinical work. It is a valuable resource for radiologists and ophthalmologists.
