Synopsis Contesting Spirit by : Tyler T. Roberts

Challenging the dominant scholarly consensus that Nietzsche is simply an enemy of religion, Tyler Roberts examines the place of religion in Nietzsche's thought and Nietzsche's thought as a site of religion. Roberts argues that Nietzsche's conceptualization and cultivation of an affirmative self require that we interrogate the ambiguities that mark his criticisms of asceticism and mysticism. What emerges is a vision of Nietzsche's philosophy as the enactment of a spiritual quest informed by transfigured versions of religious tropes and practices. Nietzsche criticizes the ascetic hatred of the body and this-worldly life, yet engages in rigorous practices of self-denial--he sees philosophy as such a practice--and affirms the need of imposing suffering on oneself in order to enhance the spirit. He dismisses the "intoxication" of mysticism, yet links mysticism, power, and creativity, and describes his own self-transcending experiences. The tensions in his relation to religion are closely related to that between negation and affirmation in his thinking in general. In Roberts's view, Nietzsche's transfigurations of religion offer resources for a postmodern religious imagination. Though as a "master of suspicion," Nietzsche, with Freud and Marx, is an integral part of modern antireligion, he has the power to take us beyond the flat, modern distinction between the secular and the religious--a distinction that, at the end of modernity, begs to be reexamined.

Synopsis Indestructible by : Blake K. Healy

FROM BEST-SELLING AUTHOR OF THE VEIL Learn about angels and demons from a man who can see them. This book will teach you how to battle your spiritual struggles from the winning side so that you can be victorious both in your life and in the issues happening in today's world. Many Christians limp through their lives feeling beat up by the enemy, their circumstances, and internal strife. They look at the pattern of world events with a sense of hopelessness. Too often they simply accept these as the natural trials and challenges of life. However, other Christians acknowledge that there is a war happening, a battle between angels and demons. They want to know: What are the rules of engagement for this battle? What weapons do we have? What kind of enemy are we facing? Is this battle always happening, or are there moments of rest and peace? Am I really meant to fight in a battle where I can't see my enemies or my allies? Blake Healy has seen angels and demons since he was a small child. In this book readers will discover what Healy has learned about the nature of spiritual warfare after over thirty years of seeing in the spirit. They will learn the truth about how they can be victorious in both their personal battles and the battles that are happening in the world. And they will see how they can truly feel as if they are fighting their spiritual battles from the winning side. This book will Teach readers how to posture their hearts and minds for personal spiritual battles as well as global spiritual warfare Show readers how to live from the victory Jesus won on the cross Give readers insight into the nature of spiritual warfare--how we fight, what winning looks like, our authority as Christians, and how much power the enemy has Indestructible will show readers how to have complete victory in their daily spiritual battles and join the front lines as heaven invades earth. Synopsis This Day We Fight! by : Francis Frangipane

Author Francis Frangipane tells us that the call of God is a call to war. An enemy lurks at our gates, and one of his first lines of attack is often a spirit of heaviness, which causes Christians to become passive. As a result, they do not pray with authority against the enemy, rendering themselves defenseless in the unfolding battle. Backed by experience and delivered with passion, Frangipane's timeless message equips believers to receive a fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit--an anointing that will activate the "war mode" in their hearts. We stand at the cusp of a major spiritual awakening in our land, and this is no time for surrender. No, this day we fight!
