Synopsis Mac OS X Leopard Portable Genius by : Dwight Spivey
Mac OS X Portable Genius is always at the ready for you with facts, tips, and secrets to give you the most from your favorite OS. This genius teaches you to customize your computer and workspace, troubleshoot and maintain Mac OS X, and just have fun. Browse and manipulate images and multimedia, listen to music and Podcasts, copy music to an iPod, add a printer, sync your Mac to other devices, and take control of Leopard to make it work for you. From the introduction: "Some of you may be rolling your eyes right now; all computers use the file and folder concept and some sort of colorful user interface, so there couldn’t be that much difference between Mac OS X and its competitors, right? Wrong. I don’t just say this because of some blind devotion to all things Apple; I’ve actually used different flavors of Windows and Linux for more than 13 years, right alongside my trusty Mac, so experience has been my teacher. If I have any devotion to Apple, there are plenty of good reasons why, the subject of this book being the first. Readers of this book who are already Mac users understand exactly what I’m talking about. For those of you moving from other computing platforms, it’s my desire that by the end of this book you will have a whole new perspective on computing and see what it means to really have fun while working with your computer. In Mac OS X Leopard Portable Genius you can learn not just the basics, but the subtle nuances and little tips and tricks that make using your Mac that much easier. I’ve covered the gamut, from printing files, surfing the Internet and using e-mail, to partitioning your hard drive, automating repetitive tasks, and using UNIX commands, with just a little bit of geeky humor thrown in for good measure. I hope this book will do justice to Mac OS X Leopard, which isn’t just a computer operating system; it’s an art form."

Synopsis Demon Entrepreneurs: Refashioning the ‘Greek Genius’ in Modern Times by : Basil C. Gounaris
The ‘Greek genius’ appears as the combination of two stereotypes with a long pedigree: Homer’s ingenious Odysseus, triumphing with tricks over his foes, and Virgil’s ‘deceitful Odysseus’, the impostor Greek. Adamantios Korais, the leading scholar who almost single-handedly refashioned the Greek nation, fully appreciated the importance of Greek shipping and commerce, and the wealth they generated for the spread of Enlightenment ideas and the quest for political emancipation in the Greek lands. In this context, the ‘genius’ and the consequent economic success have long been considered the essential prerequisites for the spreading of Greek education and, ultimately, national revival. Reversely, Greek education and consciousness-building via economic success are taken as proof of the immanent ‘Greek genius’. As a popular myth of redemption, this stereotype persists in a country of rather limited resources and uncertain prospects. This volume seeks to identify both the content and the ways that the ‘Greek genius’ has long worked at the political, social and economic level. Based on a collective research project, it offers an original contribution to the broader discussion generated by the current Greek national bicentenary. This book will appeal to all those interested in the idea of the Greek 'national character’ as well as international perceptions of Greek culture, education, and society during the modern era.

Synopsis Summary of Sean Patrick's Awakening Your Inner Genius by : Everest Media,
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The law of diminishing returns applies to the relationship between IQ and success. When you compare two people of relatively high IQs, you can no longer predict success by IQ alone. The point is that you only have to be smart enough to fulfill the intellectual requirements for success. #2 The world of sports is a great example of how people who are considered superhuman abilities have actually had little or no innate advantage over their peers. They practiced so hard and intensely that it hurt. #3 The 10,000 hour rule states that it takes around ten thousand hours of focused, intentional practice to master a skill. However, there are millions of people who work incredibly hard, yet have little success to show for it. The opportunities presented to one are just as important to success as one’s own innate talents. #4 The path to greatness is not a genetic windfall or divine gift. It is a path that we can all take and derive much benefit, happiness, fulfillment, and success from.
