Synopsis Come, Let Us Eat Together by : George Kalantzis
When it comes to the sacraments, the church has often been—and remains—divided. Can we still gather together at the same table? Based on lectures from the 2017 Wheaton Theology Conference, this volume brings together the reflections of Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Eastern Orthodox theologians, who consider what it means to proclaim the unity of the body of Christ in light of the sacraments.

Synopsis In His Arms: Life in an English Moravian Settlement in the Eighteenth Century by : Ron Southern
"In this book, historian Ron Southern explores the early years of Fulneck's development, between 1750 and 1760, when it was called either after its site, Lambshill, or chapel, Gracehall. Through an exploration of the structure and symbolism of its architecture, the phenomenology of its spaces, and a close reading of their Congregation Diaries, Life Histories, and other original sources, he conjures a picture of the rituals of daily life in an English Moravian Settlement under the influence of their charismatic leader Count Zinzendorf."--Back cover.

Synopsis The Unity of Faith by : Weinandy Ofm Cap Thomas G
In this volume, The Unity of Faith, Thomas G. Weinandy, OFM, Cap., has compiled a theologically significant medley of essays. The first section deals with the Trinity, ranging from the question of the filioque to the trinitarian thought of Johnathan Edwards. The second section addresses a topic for which Weinandy has become notable - the impassability of God and human suffering. The third takes of the topic of Christology, particularly from within the contemporary theological milieu. For example, what is the relationship between the Incarnation and Soteriology? What is the nature of Christ's human consciousness and knowledge? How does Paul perceive the primacy of Christ within his Christological hymns? The next collection of essays focuses on the relationship between faith and reason. In doing Catholic theology, how do theologians apply reason when contemplating the mysteries of faith? What is the philosophical and theological significance of Pope John Paul II's encyclical, Fides et Ratio? Ecclesiology is the final topic addressed. Weinandy examines the contributions that Henri de Lubac has contributed to our understanding of the Church. He also takes up the very delicate issue of the Jews in relationship to the Church. How important is it that Jews become Christians? The nature of the sacramentality of the Catholic priesthood is investigated. What does it mean that the priest acts in persona Christi? Lastly, Weinandy broaches a topic that has received very little theological attention - the Christian family as a Domestic Church. In what manner are spouses and parents, in imitation of Christ, priests, prophets and kings? Weinandy invariably writes in a clear and engaging manner, so much so that these essays would benefit not only academics, and students of theology, but also the educated laity.

Synopsis Eldorado by : L. Norman Shurtliff
The City of Kings is the second part of the three-book Eldorado series. In this novel the beautiful Monica has been kidnapped by the Peruvian terrorist group, The Shining Path. Peter Martin, a young American geology student is dedicated to finding his true love and her mother. As the sinister plot of Monica's evil uncle is uncovered, Peter finds himself immersed in the middle of a battle between good and evil. It is a race against time to find Monica before the Shining Path does. The winner will get the coveted Inca treasure that Pizarro and the conquistadors found in their conquest of Peru. In the process Peter really discovers himself and his true feelings for Monica. The treasure is safely hidden in the ancient tunnels underneath the Incan capital city of Cusco, Peru, but will it stay safe? Peter is frustrated by the red tape and government bureaucracy that he has to wade through to get the help that is required. Time is of the essence and Peter knows that the terrorists will not hesitate to kill Monica if they receive the information they need from the Sacred Quipu to find the treasure cache. The parallel story of the conquest of the Incas is intertwined in the novel because of its historical importance to the location and quantity of the treasure. Francisco Pizarro the governor and conqueror of Peru is murdered in his own presidential palace in Lima. A struggle for control of the empire takes place between the remaining Pizarro brothers and the 'Men of Chile'. These terrible civil wars between the Spanish conquistadors become not only a fight for power and the right to govern, but also agreed for Inca gold. Peter becomes entangled in a much larger plot that threatens more than just his life. He realizes that the terrorists aren't really after a rich American kid, but this very special Peruvian beauty. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it would prove to change the direction of his whole life. This fictional history is about their adventure together and if their love will overcome the differences between their modern day cultures that become entwined with the past and the search for Eldorado and Inca Gold.

Synopsis The Mystery of Love by : Ayman Baroudi
Love, like fire, triggered my first short story even though I was still ten. I am now seventy, yet the same fire still starts me to write. Love makes miracles. Don’t you think so? Now, what about the book? It’s a bold trial to raise a question that concerns us, keeps us alive, and makes the world go around but does not expect an answer. The challenging question is, how to keep the fire of love on and save our passion from the trip of boredom and monotony? Is moving beyond conventional monogamy the answer? Maybe yes, maybe not, because love is a mystery to enjoy, not to sort out.

Synopsis Birth of a Nation by : Gerard Loughran
Launched in Nairobi in 1960, three years before the birth of independent Kenya, the Nation group of newspapers grew up sharing the struggles of an infant nation, suffering the pain of its failures and rejoicing in its successes. Marking its 50th anniversary in 2010, the Nation looks back on its performance as the standard-bearer for journalistic integrity and how far it fell short or supported the loyalty demanded by its founding slogan 'The Truth shall make you free'. The Aga Khan was still a student at Harvard University when he decided that an honest and independent newspaper would be a crucial contribution to East Africa's peaceful transition to democracy. The "Sunday Nation" and "Daily Nation" were launched in 1960 when independence for Kenya was not far over the horizon. They quickly established a reputation for honesty and fair-mindedness, while shocking the colonial and settler establishment by calling for the release of the man who could become the nation's first prime minister, Jomo Kenyatta, and early negotiations for 'Uhuru'. The history of the 'Nation' papers and that of Kenya are closely intertwined; in the heat of its printing presses and philosophical struggles, that story is told here: from committed beginnings to its position today as East Africa's leading newspaper group.
