Synopsis Citizen Survivor's Handbook by : Richard Denham

Includes a foreword by best-selling author and TV star Cody Lundin. The prepper's guide with a difference During the 1940’s Britain suffered a national catastrophe that would become known as ‘The Great Tribulation’ by its survivors. The remnant of His Majesty’s Government formed a department known as The Ministry of Survivors, the mandate of this office being to help, guide and inform the public through the anarchy around them. During the early years they produced and issued a handbook known as ‘The Citizen Survivor’s Guidebook’. However, as the situation became more desperate, the guidance within this book quickly became redundant. The Ministry deemed that the only remaining course of action was to produce a second edition; informing people to evacuate the chaos of the towns and cities and flee to the countryside, focusing on wilderness survival and how to be self-sufficient on the move. This is a surviving copy of that handbook.

Synopsis Citizen Survivors: The Red Book by : Richard Denham

The War is over, Britain has fallen. It wasn't necessarily that Britain had lost the Second World War. In fact, the Citizen Survivors would disagree whether they had simply bowed out, if it was still raging on somewhere else, or whether the whole thing was simply an unfortunate misunderstanding that they were better off having no part of. Citizen Survivors: The Red Book is a nightmarish black comedy, retelling history's most famous 'what if?’ - Not only what if Britain lost World War Two, but what would that mean for those who survived? The Red Book is a dystopian anthology containing eleven short stories written by ten authors. Often tragic, often spooky, often funny, but always weird. Mirroring and inspired by many historical realities and possibilities, join the Citizen Survivors as they try to piece together what has happened to their world and how they confront their new reality. The Inmate by Maryanne Coleman The Reverend by M. J. Trow The Policeman by Kyt Wright The Agent by Maryanne Coleman The Widow by Julia Cowan The Busker by Taliesin Trow The Arbitrator by Faye Irwin The Soldier by Richard Denham The Entrepreneur by Justin Alcala The Housewife by Samantha Evergreen The Partisan by Bethan White Praise for Citizen Survivors: The Red Book: ‘Psychological horror may have just found its newest champion.’ – Gillian Philip ‘It’s said that good fiction's job is to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable, this book delivers that challenge in spades.’ – Georgia Hill ‘A genre-defying triumph. Franz Kafka, David Lynch and Philip K. Dick would be proud of this off-kilter anthology.’ – Russell Brown ‘Either a work of genius, a work of insanity or both! You’ll start as lost as the characters as you piece together the world of the Citizen Survivors in this unsettling and addictive read.’ – Nikki Turner ‘This book is like a good puzzle that teasingly never quite comes together, leaving you in anticipation for more clues about this nightmarish world.’ – Sarah Anne Carter

Synopsis Citizen Survivor Tales by : Richard Denham

Ready for the end, old boy? Maryanne Coleman was a popular journalist who worked for The Ministry during the 1940s. While under the guise of a reporter for The Southern Herald, her role was to interview a variety of survivors of 'The Great Tribulation' which had plunged Britain into chaos. She travelled throughout Britain speaking to a wide assortment of characters and those who had come to the attention of The Ministry and to collate information, both overtly and covertly, on the current state of the nation. Although her interviews were later recovered, Maryanne herself went missing. Her fate is currently unknown. It must be conjectured that one of the interviewees was involved in her disappearance. Here then, is a collection of ten of Maryanne's most interesting, amusing, bizarre, frightful and compelling interviews. Please note, these accounts are not for public dissemination and to distribute them, knowingly or unknowingly, to anyone below silver clearance will be considered an act of treason.

Synopsis We Believe You by : Annie E. Clark

"From young activists at the forefront of the movement to end sexual assault on college campuses, a collection of survivor stories that will connect with students and inform and inspire us all Across the U.S. student activists are exposing a pervasive cover-up of sexual assault on college campuses. Every day more survivors come forward. But other survivors choose not to. We Believe You elevates the stories the headlines about this issue have been missing--more than 30 experiences of trauma, healing and everyday activism, representing a diversity of races, economic and family backgrounds, gender identities, immigration statuses, interests, capacities and loves. More than 1 in 5 women and 5 percent of men are sexually assaulted at college, a shocking status quo that might have stayed largely hidden and unaddressed but for the two authors of We Believe You. In 2013, Annie E. Clark and Andrea L. Pino, then 23 and 20, building on the work of earlier activists, outed themselves as assault survivors and filed a federal complaint against the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) for mishandling such crimes; within a month, the U.S. government began to investigate UNC. Within a year, dozens of colleges were under federal investigation. But Clark and Pino rightly see themselves as two among many. Students from every kind of college and university--large and small, public and private, highly selective and less so--are sounding alarms and staking claims to justice by filing complaints, by pressing charges, and by simply living beyond the effects of assault and the betrayals of their schools. A sampling of their voices speak out in this book"--

Synopsis Dear Sister by : Lisa Factora-Borchers

Dear Sister, It wasn't your fault; it was never your fault. You did nothing wrong. Hold this tight to your heart: it wasn't your fault. At night when you lay there and your mind fills with images and you wonder if only, if you had . . . if you hadn't . . . . Remember: it wasn't your fault. Dear Sister highlights the lessons, memories, and vision of over forty artists, activists, mothers, writers, and students who share a common bond: they are survivors of sexual violence. Written in an epistolary format, this multi-generational, multi-ethnic collection of letters and essays is a moving journey into the hearts and minds of the survivors of rape, incest, and other forms of sexual violence, written directly to and for other survivors. Dear Sister goes far beyond traditional books about healing, which often use "experts" to explain the experience of survivors for the rest of the world. Where other books about rape weave the voices of feminists and activists together and imagine what a world without violence might look like, Dear Sister describes the reality of what the world looks like through the eyes of a survivor. From a professor in the Midwest to a poet in Belgium, an escapee from a child prostitution ring, a survivor advocate in the Congo, and a sex worker in San Francisco, Dear Sister touches on issues of feminism, love, disability, gender, justice, identity, and spirituality. Lisa Factora-Borchers is a Filipina writer and editor whose work has been published in make/shift, Bitch, Left Turn, and Critical Moment.
