Excerpt from Charter of the City and County of Denver: Framed by the Second Charter Convention, February 6, 1904, and Amendments Thereto to December 1, 1911, Containing Also Article XX of the Constitution of the State of Colorado An Act To Submit to the Qualified Electors of the State of Colorado an Amendment to the Constitution of the State of Colorado, by Adding Thereto Article XX, entitled "City and County of Denver." Be it Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado: Section 1. There shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the state of Colorado, at the next general election for members of the general assembly, for their approval or rejection, the following amendment to the Constitution of the state of Colorado, by adding to the said Constitution a new article to be numbered and designated as "Article XX, City and County of Denver," which, when ratified by a majority of those voting thereon, shall be valid as a part of the Constitution, to wit: Article XX. City and County of Denver Incorporation. Section 1. The municipal corporation known as the city of Denver, and all municipal corporations and that part of the quasi-municipal corporation known as the county of Arapahoe, in the state of Colorado, included within the exterior boundaries of the said city of Denver as the same shall be bounded when this amendment takes effect, are hereby consolidated and are hereby declared to be a single body politic and corporate, by the name of the "City and County of Denver."
