Synopsis Change Is on the Horizon by : James Rink
This book presents James Rink's extraordinary three hour Internet video “Change is on the Horizon” in book form. You may want to watch the video before reading this book. Go to http://tinyurl.com/9xld6u6 for the full version. After watching “Change is on the Horizon” several times, I still found it difficult to retain all of the marvelous details and facts packed within this educational documentary. So James has permitted me to publish this video in book form so that I can use it as a reverence book, by highlighting the many important outstanding facts it reveals, without having to watch it all the way through, each time, to find what I need.“Change is on the Horizon” is the epic story of how the world lost its soul, and how it will gain it back, directed and narrated by James Rink. This project took James Rink three years and thousands of hours of editing and reediting to complete it.Part 1 - Dawn of the Golden Age - discusses how Saint Germain helped to bring about the beginnings of an enlightened era which soon fell into darkness under the realms of the Illuminati and a corrupted Masonic order.Part 2 - The American Federal Empire - shows that America was always meant to be a shinning beacon of prosperity and freedom to the world. But the machinations of British bankers and the Rothschild dynasty soon destroyed all that was once good in this great land.Part 3 - The Farmers Claim Program - Discusses how a class action lawsuit, brought about in the early 1990's, led to the creation of NESARA, the National Economic Security and Reformation Act, which will ultimately tear the New World Order apart, and the international bankers' plans from under their feet.David E. Synopsis Horizon by : Barry Lopez
ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR: THE NEW YORK TIMES • NPR • THE GUARDIAN From pole to pole and across decades of lived experience, National Book Award-winning author Barry Lopez delivers his most far-ranging, yet personal, work to date. Horizon moves indelibly, immersively, through the author’s travels to six regions of the world: from Western Oregon to the High Arctic; from the Galápagos to the Kenyan desert; from Botany Bay in Australia to finally, unforgettably, the ice shelves of Antarctica. Along the way, Lopez probes the long history of humanity’s thirst for exploration, including the prehistoric peoples who trekked across Skraeling Island in northern Canada, the colonialists who plundered Central Africa, an enlightenment-era Englishman who sailed the Pacific, a Native American emissary who found his way into isolationist Japan, and today’s ecotourists in the tropics. And always, throughout his journeys to some of the hottest, coldest, and most desolate places on the globe, Lopez searches for meaning and purpose in a broken world.

Synopsis The Origins of the Horizon in Husserl’s Phenomenology by : Saulius Geniusas
This volume is the first book-length analysis of the problematic concept of the ‘horizon’ in Edmund Husserl’s phenomenology, as well as in phenomenology generally. A recent arrival on the conceptual scene, the horizon still eludes robust definition. The author shows in this authoritative exploration of the topic that Husserl, the originator of phenomenology, placed the notion of the horizon at the centre of philosophical enquiry. He also demonstrates the rightful centrality of the concept of the horizon, all too often viewed as an imprecise metaphor of tangential significance. His systematic analysis deploys both early and late work by Husserl, as well as hitherto unpublished manuscripts. Opening out the question to include that of the origins of the horizon, the book explores the horizon as philosophical theme or notion, as a figure of intentionality, and as a signification of one’s consciousness of the world—our ‘world-horizon’. It argues that the central philosophical significance of the problematic of the horizon makes itself apparent in realizing how this problematic enriches our philosophical understanding of subjectivity. Systematic, thorough, and revealing, this study of the significance of a core concept in phenomenology will be relevant not only to the phenomenological community, but also to anyone interested in the intersections of phenomenology and other philosophical traditions, such as hermeneutics and pragmatism.

Synopsis World on the Horizon by : Prita Meier
The multiauthored book accompanying the World on the Horizon exhibition organized by Krannert Art Museum is the first interdisciplinary study of Swahili visual arts and their historically deep and enduring connections to eastern and central Africa, the port towns of the western Indian Ocean, Europe, and the United States. At once exhibition catalogue and scholarly inquiry, the publication features eighteen essays in a mix of formats - personal reflections, object biographies, as well as more in-depth critical treatments - and includes never before published images of works from the National Museums of Kenya and Bait Al Zubair Museum in Oman. By approaching the east African coast as a vibrant arena of global cultural convergence, these essays offer compelling new perspectives on the situated yet mobile and deeply networked social lives of Swahili objects. Moving between the broader structural relations of political economic change to more intimate narratives through which such change is experienced, the essays throw light on the ways in which the material fabric of the arts structure Swahili people's sense of self and community in an ever-changing world of oceanic and terrestrial movement.
