Synopsis Can I have a go? by : David Rosen
its high time to fly in the face of this lie. it is over. to slave for ideals that have long been ordeals. must be over. so come on you men, dont get conned yet again. finding out youve got nowt, must be over. sometimes i vote for the men in white coats. but im dreaming. with community dead and a rat race instead. i'd be dreaming. that i could be heard, in this state of absurd, really dreaming. 'wacko' right, out there for good. you know in your heart of hearts, in your vision, in your children, that youv'e got to make a new start. the people whove got three worlds on sale, would rip the fourth apart, re-package you rip you off, flog the only heart, in the sell out. not brave enough to change it, too low down to inherit the earth.

Synopsis You Don't Have to Go There by : Raymond Tapp
Book I of IV This book is about a man's everyday life in prison (that man being me). To me, my life in prison was about "bettering" myself by staying positive in all that I did. You asked, "Raymond what did you do for five year?" (while incarcerated). Well, I read, I wrote, I went to school, and I went to almost every church service I could. I became a chapel aide at the last two prisons where I was incarcerated. As you will find as you begin to read this book, I also took care of my physical body by working out, doing push- ups, crunches, working out at the weight pile and of course doing a lot of walking! Anything I could do to better myself physically and mentally I did. I wrote a lot of poetry, along with writing this book journal that you are about to read. I 'm sure you will feel emotional, sad, and even smiling at times. I was always truthful and I prayed a lot. I'm sure you will be blessed and at times excited as you read about a man's everyday life in prison. I suggest you read slowly and visualize what a man goes through in everyday life in prison. It was God and His presence that seen me through a five- years incarceration. May you be blessed Sincerely Ray Tapp 2018

Synopsis This Is Where You Have To Go by : Lynda Holden
150,000 adoptions took place in Australia between 1950 and 1975. It is estimated that one in 15 was forced. Proud Dhunghutti woman, laywer, human rights advocate and former midwife Lynda Holden tells her own heartbreaking story and of her fight for justice. In 1970, Lynda was eighteen, unmarried and pregnant when she was forced to give her baby up for adoption. She was sent by a doctor to a Catholic girls' home for unmarried mothers, and told she'd have no hope of keeping her child because she was Aboriginal. After twenty-six years, Lynda was finally able to make contact with her lost son – but the much wished for reunion didn't go well. When she looked into the adoption records, she found a web of lies – lies about her family, the baby's father, her 'consent' for the adoption – and her Indigenous heritage had been completely erased. So began a quest for justice: Lynda took on the Catholic Church in an attempt to right the wrongs of the past. In this incredibly powerful memoir, she sheds light on the lasting impacts of forced adoption on mothers, children and their families, and gives voice to the countless women who have been silenced for generations.

Synopsis When You Have to Go to Prison by : Margaret R. Kohut
The number of people incarcerated across the United States reached two million in 2002. That number has increased since then, and the U.S. holds the highest incarceration rate in the world - one out of every 100 Americans are in prison. The rate of imprisoned females is rising at a faster rate than imprisoned males, and many individuals are imprisoned for non-violent crimes. Individuals with otherwise respectable lives are incarcerated with little or no idea of what to expect and how it will affect them and their families. This book was written to help anyone who is preparing to go to prison with the possibilities, expectations, and realities of their situation from the strain it will put on a marriage, to the conversations you will need to have with your children. You will learn everything you need to know about prison that the system is unwilling to tell you. Learn how visitation works and how often you will be able to see your family. Learn how to discuss prison with your children and how to maintain a healthy relationship with your spouse regardless of the duration of your incarceration. Learn about the unique issues women go through in prison. Learn how to write a loving letter and how to effectively bide your time in prison without succumbing to the temptations and bad influences. Learn how to maintain your dignity and the respect of your children despite everything that has happened, by consistently keeping in touch. After interviewing more than 100 past and present inmates along with their families, this book provides a complete perspective into how people respond to the prospect and reality of incarceration, and what you can do to prepare for those realities. Learn what prison life is really like depending on your crime and where you will be sent. Learn how you can reduce your prison time through good behavior and how you can: prepare your family for your departure, prepare your finances, ensure friends or family members will help your spouse, and set aside the necessary resources to maintain your family's lifestyle and comfort. For anyone preparing to go to prison and leaving behind a family, this book will provide the necessary information that no one else is willing to tell you before you go in. Synopsis Children Have Abilities, Now Go Educate by : J. Patrick Carriere
Have we become hypocrites? We learned the message of peace, love, joy, happiness, charity, and forgiveness at the fronts of our churches, mosques, and temples, but do we heed the teachings? I am happy to write this book with an open mind and without pity, to try to help people understand the simplicity of life as it was given to us many years ago. It speaks of our powers and how complex life has become through the manipulations of governing bodies and corporations. This book talks of ways we can achieve peace.

Synopsis Do I Have to Go? by : Matthew Pinto
From playing video games to sleeping-in, teens can think of countless things they would rather do than go to Mass on Sunday morning. That is, unless they knew what they were missing. Do I Have to Go? explains the meaning and the mystery of Mass in such a way that teens will be asking, 'Why wouldn’t I go?' With wit, clarity, and common sense, Matthew Pinto and Chris Stefanick answer the tough questions teens have about the Mass-from the rituals contained in the liturgy, to the doctrines of the Eucharist and the priesthood. When teens understand that the Mass is literally the meeting place between heaven and earth, they will have a newfound sense of awe and a deeper understanding of their role as a Catholic in a post-modern world. In Do I Have to Go? teens will learn: ● Why the Mass is an essential part of the Christian life. ● The mystery of the Eucharist as the Real Presence of Jesus’s Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. ● How the redemptive work of Jesus Christ is communicated to and through the Church and the sacraments. ●The meaning of all the gestures and symbols of the the Mass. ● How the Mass has developed from its roots in the Old Testament, through its institution by Christ. ● The importance of the liturgical seasons for the spiritual life.

Synopsis Where We Have to Go by : Lauren Kirshner
Named NOW Magazine’s Best Emerging Local Author Where We Have to Go is a luminous and sassy first novel about the last days of childhood in a family coming apart at the seams. At once wryly humorous and deeply affecting, this sparkling novel follows the irresistible Lucy Bloom as she searches for her place in the world. When we first meet Lucy, she’s an imaginative eleven-year-old dreaming of a taste of freedom — and only beginning to grasp that all is not well between her parents. In the years that follow, Lucy’s journey to adulthood will see her question the limits of unconditional love, grow “criminally thin” as she stops eating, and discover complicated truths about what it means to be a young woman. Through it all, the central figure in Lucy’s life remains her mother, Joy, whose larger-than-life stories and boisterous voice belie a deep disappointment. As their relationship is tested again and again, Lucy comes to understand the resilience of the bonds that tie us to the ones we love. Among the characters we meet are Lucy’ s father, Frank, a failed glamour photographer turned travel agent who’s never been out of the country; her best friend, Erin, an artist whose outspoken iconoclasm will inspire and challenge Lucy; and Crashing Wave, Frank’s lover, a former exotic dancer and the woman Lucy comes to imagine as the ideal of all that is feminine. Set in Toronto throughout the 1990s, Where We Have to Go is a novel of self-discovery, family, and love. It introduces Lauren Kirshner as one of our most striking new voices, and reminds us that sometimes the most difficult journey is the one that takes us home.
