Jorg or Georg Burckhardt was born in Germany. He married Appolonia Meyer before 1649. They had one child of record. Their great- grandson, Johannes Burcket/Burckhardt (born 1708) and his wife, Katrina Herbert, immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1767, having been preceded in 1740 by their son, Johan Dedrick Burcket.
