Synopsis Brushes with Life- the Journey Continues by : Boyd Russell
Mr. Russel allows the reader to walk next to walk next to Shaun Mckenzie as he continues his journey. That journey is distinguished by candor and unswerving purpose. His boyhood training in the ancient martial art of Bando continually sideswipes contemporary behavior and values. In "Brushes With Life- The Journey Continues" Shaun's unique approach to problem solving is tested when: He intercedes between a crime boss that befriended him years before and a crooked U.S Attorney trying to convict him of a crime he didn't commit. The "hornests nest" he stirs up brings friends and enemies from unexpected places. He comes to the aid of the daughter of a college sweetheart. Jean is in jeopardy of losing the company her Mother founded to a devious and abusive competitor. Shaun's closest friend John agrees to intercede in place of Shaun. John's unconventional approach to business hardball produces interesting results for Jean and a business spanking for the outclassed competitor. The tragic death of his wife, Mickey, at the hands of a drunk driver causes his face to face encounter with the "injustice" in the "justice" system. Her loss, Shaun's fundamental respect for all life, and this encounter force him to question his basic foundation. The outcome brings devastating results.

Synopsis The Journey Continues: from Groaning to Dancing by : Richard Jones
It is a pure pleasure for me to be writing again. Fourteen years of being involved in teaching and school administration have claimed most of my hours and focus. My desire to write turned into thoughts of “someday...” or “next year I’m gonna...”. With departure from the business of the classroom, I once again have the freedom to commit myself to putting pen to paper (or I should say, “fingers to keyboard”). William Faulkner wrote, “It is the writer’s privilege to help man endure by lifting his heart.” That is my desire, and I appreciate your allowing me to be a small part of the “heart-lifting” process in your life. Since my last project, I have had several requests to write a sequel, a second prayer devotional. A discussion with my late father ended with a commitment to do so. It is with pleasure that I honor that commitment. Much of what I write is never seen by anyone but the Lord and me, but written words can live on as long as there are readers to see them. Michael Straczynski called it “immortality by proxy.”

Synopsis Journey to God by : Dr. Ron Hansen
Is God for real? Is there any meaning to life? These are the questions that urged a nine-year-old to start a quest that has lasted over sixty-nine years. The journey goes from coast to coast and from border to border. The events run the gamut of the last half of the previous century: racial prejudice, school integration, Vietnam debates, and the place of Christianity in our sociopolitical society. The accounts describe facing violence without fear, and finding solutions to complex problems. What is it like to raise a family in a parsonage? Raising a family anywhere is a challenge and a joy. Whether in a parsonage or neighborhood household, having a faith to live by is a resource that makes the difference. What is different about Journey to God? The approach is to use the experiences in our everyday life together and in language anyone can understand. One does not have to be highly educated or have special spiritual experiences to discover how the divine works in today's society. Journey to God demonstrates how an everyday person with everyday abilities can experience a presence today that is usually reserved for the days of the Bible. While the characters in the Bible seem bigger than life, one does not have to be bigger--one only has to be alive to experience the same sense of the divine most assume exists only in the past.
