Synopsis Bloom's Desk by : Jeffrey Littorno
"Littorno blows you away with a richly developed and intriguing thriller. All readers will be in for a thrill ride to the last page." Not every serial killer goes straight to hell. Some manage to keep a foot in this world and possess the living. "The male voice had a slight European accent, 'Go open your desk.' Without giving it any conscious thought, Glen began walking slowly back across the parking lot toward the school. Just before he reached the curb of the sidewalk separating the rough pavement of the parking lot from the smooth sidewalk and the lawn of the campus, Glen asked himself just what he was doing. That was certainly a good question. Why exactly was he heading back to his classroom in the middle of the night to look inside of a desk? Before he could find an answer to the question, Glen found himself surrounded by a bright light." "Bloom's Desk" by Jeffrey Littorno is a novel of paranormal horror. Ghost stories are always popular, and with this supernatural horror tale "readers will be in for a thrill ride to the last page". The trouble began with the voice inside his head and the dark visions it brought... Glen Davis and his wife Christine have settled into a comfortable life in Northern California. Then the voice started... The spirit of a long-dead serial killer named Robert Bloom has chosen Glen as the one to continue his deadly hobby. Now the young teacher is haunted and must choose between saving himself or those around him. What readers are saying about this psychological thriller from Jeffrey Littorno: "Littorno blows you away with a richly developed and intriguing thriller. All readers will be in for a thrill ride to the last page...The way the author gives you insight into Bloom and develops a caring feeling for the reader with Glen is impeccable." - Albert Robbins III "This may sound like a cliche, but I was so engrossed in this book that I found it hard to put down! Littorno writes an intriguing story that avoids the pitfall of predictability. I will certainly buy his next book and look forward to many more!" - Merry Widow "The story pulled me in straight away and moved along nicely. I liked that the story kept my attention all the way from the beginning to the end. I am always looking for new thrillers/suspense novels and was pleasantly surprised by this book. Will keep tabs on this author and any new releases. Keep up the good work Jeffrey Littorno. I really enjoy your books." - C Forrester "I love books that are action-packed, and stimulating at the same time. I must admit that I don't entirely read too much of horror genre or those of books as at times I've found they were a little too much for me. 'Bloom's Desk' has a nice balance of horror, thriller, and suspense involved and I liked that it wasn't straight gory the whole time. There was a purpose to the horror and gore. It was a very engaging book that kept my attention from start to finish." If you're looking for a page turner of gripping horror suspense, take a look for yourself to discover what is waiting in the pages of Bloom's Desk. Author Jeffrey Littorno has always been interested in the paranormal and horror genres, so, naturally, his writing has been focused on the occult and supernatural thrillers. Synopsis Monstrous Maud: Big Fright by : A. B. Saddlewick
When Maud’s pet rat, Quentin, escapes in the middle of science class, it’s the very last straw. While Primrose Towers is full of decorous young ladies, Maud is ungraceful and prefers her pet rat to all other company She never quite fit in with the rest of the students and has been a nuisance one too many times. Maud is transferred from prim and proper Primrose Towers to dark and mysterious Rotwood Middle School—much to the delight of her teacher, classmates, and her perfect twin, Milly—but what is in store for Maud at Rotwood? There is something strange about the students and teachers. Everyone is dressed as if it’s Halloween and the school motto is “Because We Scare.” Maud learns two very important things on her first day at Rotwood: first, all of the students and teachers are monsters and second, she’s finally found a place where she feels like she belongs. While Primrose Academy rejected Maud’s differences, Rotwood allows her to embrace them. Even though she’s not a monster, Maud must make everyone believe she is in order to stay at Rotwood with her new friends. Monstrous Maud: Big Fright is a great alternative to princess books for middle grade readers. It is full of silliness and monster fun—along with likeable characters and a great twist at the end.

Synopsis Joyce's Creative Process and the Construction of Characters in Ulysses by : Luca Crispi
This book is both a study of how James Joyce created two of the most iconic characters in literature--Leopold Bloom and Marion Tweedy Bloom--as well as a history of the genesis of Ulysses. From a genetic critical perspective, it explores the conception and evolution of the Blooms as fictional characters in the work's wide range of surviving notes and manuscripts. At the same time, it also chronicles the production of Ulysses from 1917 to its first edition in 1922 and beyond. Based on decades of research, it is an original engagement with the textual archive of Ulysses, including the exciting, recently-discovered manuscripts now in the National Library of Ireland. Luca Crispi excavates the raw material and examines the creative processes Joyce deployed in the construction of the Blooms and so the writing of Ulysses. Framed by a contextual introduction and four bibliographical appendices, the seven main chapters are a critical investigation of the fictional events and memories that constitute the "lives" of the Blooms. Thereby, it is also a commentary on Joyce's conception of Ulysses more generally. Crispi analyzes how the stories in the published book achieved their final form and discloses previously unexamined versions of them for everyone who enjoys reading Ulysses. This book demonstrates the various ways in which specialist textual work on the genesis of Ulysses directly intersects with other critical and interpretive readings. Joyce's Creative Process is a behind-the-scenes guide to the creation of one of the most important books ever written.
