Son of Czechoslovakian immigrants, Edward T. Packard sold his first model airplane in Cleveland in 1919 at the age of thirteen, a simple Pushers Stick Model. During World War II the ability of American ground forces to advance in the face of fierce resistance was largely dependent on the precision of artillery barrages.
