Synopsis Atlas of Cytopathology and Radiology by : Ritu Nayar
The aim of this atlas is to guide pathologists and radiologists in the accurate triage and diagnosis of deep seated mass lesions biopsied under ultrasound, CT Scan or fluoroscopic guidance. Fine needle aspiration cytology has become the foremost diagnostic modality in recent years for the diagnosis of mass lesions, including primary and recurrent neoplasms and masses of non-neoplastic and infectious etiology. An essential requirement in the accurate diagnosis of these masses is the correlation of cytomorphology with the radiological findings and adequate triage of acquired material during the biopsy procedure. The cytologic appearance (fine needle aspiration smears, touch preparations, cell blocks and core biopsy), gross surgical resected specimen (where available on follow-up) and imaging findings will be illustrated to provide a complete pathologic-radiologic correlation of the entities discussed. Collection methods and correlation with ancillary studies such as flow cytometry, microbiologic cultures, cytogenetics and immunohistochemistry will be described. The importance of specimen type and cytologic and radiologic techniques will be emphasized.

Synopsis Atlas of Thyroid Cytopathology on Liquid-Based Preparations by : Rana S. Hoda
This illustrated volume serves as a handy guide to diagnostic fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology of thyroid on liquid-based preparations (LBP). It is intended to be a ready resource to accurately diagnose thyroid lesions on LBP using key cytomorphologic features. Key cytologic differential diagnosis, gross, and histopathological correlations accompany the cytological findings. The Atlas of Thyroid Cytopathology on Liquid-Based Preparations is lavishly illustrated with color images of various thyroid diseases that should familiarize pathologists with the differences between conventional smears and LBP, and between the two commonly used LBPs. Authored by leaders in the field, this atlas provides clear, concise, and practical guidance pertaining to cytomorphology and the implications of thyroid FNA diagnoses for patient care in this era of precision medicine.

Synopsis Atlas of Pulmonary Cytopathology by : Christopher J. VandenBussche, MD, PhD
Atlas of Pulmonary Cytopathology: With Histopathologic Correlations offers concrete diagnostic guidance for anatomic pathologists to accurately identify pulmonary disease using exfoliative and fine needle aspiration techniques. It not only illustrates the classic cytomorphology of common lung lesions, but also presents and contrasts important problem areas that can lead to erroneous interpretation. Clearly and concisely written by leaders in the field, this volume is a practical desk reference for all facets of the diagnostically challenging areas of pulmonary cytopathology. The Atlas features more than 500 carefully selected high-resolution images detailing important aspects of the full range of lung diseases and conditions including infections, reactive lesions, benign neoplasms, and malignant tumors such as adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, neuroendocrine tumors, malignant mesothelioma, and metastatic tumors. Additionally, the book contains images of the histopathology and gross characteristics of certain lesions to provide morphologic correlations that will be relevant to cytopathologists and surgical pathologists alike. To provide a broader, more enriching perspective, the Atlas features a special chapter on the radiologic characteristics of lung lesions to provide a differential diagnosis through the eyes of an experienced radiologist. This multidisciplinary approach to enhance the reader’s understanding of how cytopathology, histopathology, and radiologic information together create a powerful tool for understanding the neoplastic, reactive, and infectious disease of the lower respiratory tract. Key Features: Provides practical, expert diagnostic guidance for the full range of pulmonary cytopathology Discusses common diagnostic pitfalls and interpretive errors encountered in respiratory tract specimens Correlates cytologic features with those seen on histology Presents more than 500 high-resolution images Includes radiologic-pathologic correlations from an expert radiologist

Synopsis Atlas of Pancreatic Cytopathology by : Syed Z. Ali, MD
"Clinical and radiologic examinations cannot reliably distinguish benign or inflammatory pancreatic disease from carcinoma. The increased use of pancreatic fine needle aspiration (FNA) along with advances in imaging techniques and the introduction of endoscopic ultrasound guidance have led to significantly better detection and recognition of pancreatic masses. Consequently, pancreatic cytopathology is integral to accurate pre-operative diagnosis yet it is a challenging diagnostic area with a variety of potential pitfalls and "look-alike" lesions. Skillful recognition and an awareness of the limitations of the procedure are essential in avoiding misdiagnosis of these dangerous lesions. Atlas of Pancreatic Cytopathology with Histopathologic Correlations fills a void in current pathology literature. With 450 high-resolution images, including images of histopathologic and radiologic features, this practical atlas presents an integrated approach to diagnostic cytopathology that will help physician cytopathologists, cytotechnologists, and pathologists avoid potential pitfalls and "look-alike" lesions. Written by recognized experts in the field, the extensive high-resolution color images of the characteristic features of pancreatic disease are presented with detailed descriptions that cover classic features, diagnostic clues, and potential pitfalls. Atlas of Pancreatic Cytopathology with Histopathologic Correlations is a valuable resource for the seasoned cytopathologist, general and surgical pathologists, pathology trainees, and cytotechnologists. Synopsis Atlas of Sellar and Parasellar Lesions by : Gabriel Zada
This book presents, in a stepwise and interactive fashion, approximately 75 cases that reflect the wide spectrum of pathology encountered in this region. Each case description commences with a concise clinical scenario. High-quality radiologic, laboratory, and histopathologic images depicting the differentiating features of the lesion subtype in question are then presented, and key operative and clinical management pearls are briefly reviewed. The interdisciplinary nature of this easy-to-use color atlas and textbook reflects the fact that the management of patients with sellar and parasellar lesions is itself often interdisciplinary. The format is unique in that no similar interdisciplinary book is available on lesions of this region of the brain. Atlas of Sellar and Parasellar Lesions: Clinical, Imaging, and Pathologic Correlations is of great value for practitioners and trainees in a range of medical specialties, including radiology, neurology, endocriniology, pathology, oncology, radiation oncology, and neurosurgery.
