Synopsis Asylum Earth by : Charles Bragg

Artist, Charles Bragg brings us a view of his own special reality--and sheds new light on what we know of our own. In Asylum Earth, nothing is quite as it seems. Toulouse-Laurec shares a room with El Greco in "Art Heaven," while back among the living, an irate "Letter to the Editor" demands that someone go in and finish "all those impressionist paintings--why leave just an impression?" Irrelevant and brilliantly funny, Bragg brings us a view of his own special reality--and sheds new light on what we know of our own. Witticisms, satire, and irony abound, and no profession or institution escapes Bragg's sharp eye. Often compared to Daumier, Nast, and Bosch, Bragg is a master of observation. Once our human frailties are scrutinized by his myopic gaze, we may never see ourselves in quite the same way again! Illustrated throughout with Bragg's paintings and etchings.

Synopsis Welcome to Arkham Asylum by : Sharon Packer, M.D.

Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane is a staple of the Batman universe, evolving into a franchise comprised of comic books, graphic novels, video games, films, television series and more. The Arkham franchise, supposedly light-weight entertainment, has tackled weighty issues in contemporary psychiatry. Its plotlines reference clinical and ethical controversies that perplex even the most up-to-date professionals. The 25 essays in this collection explore the significance of Arkham's sinister psychiatrists, murderous mental patients, and unethical geneticists. It invites debates about the criminalization of the mentally ill, mental patients who move from defunct state hospitals into expanding prisons, madness versus badness, sociopathy versus psychosis, the "insanity defense" and more. Invoking literary figures from Lovecraft to Poe to Caligari, the 25 essays in this collection are a broad-ranging and thorough assessment of the franchise and its relationship to contemporary psychiatry.

Synopsis Arkham Asylum. by : Grant Morrison

15 years ago, this enigmatic graphic novel performed its mental autopsy on Batman and his enemies, and in doing so set both its creators on the road to greatness. In Gotham City's home for the criminally insane, Batman confronts his arch-nemeses, including the Joker, Two-Face and more. Before the battle is over, Batman's mental straight-jacket will have been torn apart, exposing his every weakness and bringing him far closer to his foes than he could ever possibly have wanted! To celebrate this illustrious anniversary, Arkham Asylum has been re-launched in this sumptuous hardback that includes Morrison's complete script, original thumbnail breakdowns, samples of how the story and art came together, and much more!

Synopsis Asylum Seekers by : Juan Rodulfo

What’s wrong with humans? Is there anybody out there in Governments or Power Circles with some sense of respect for the Planet Earth and its Inhabitants?. By the time of publishing this book (November 2018) my Wife and I have known and helped more than hundred Venezuelan families in their Asylum Applications, including one family from Ecuador and other one from Colombia. This same year two “Caravans”, around 7 thousands of low economic resources people forced by Violence of Criminal Organizations, Abusive Governments and Poverty to walk away out of their root spaces in America Central and Mexico in search of saving their lives into the US. In the other side of the Planet Earth, over 100 thousand of people in same or worst conditions of the ones belonging to the “Caravans”, risk their lives crossing the Mediterranean Sea out of Africa to Europe, causing death of large percentages of this population by starvation or drowning. Moving around the Globe Rohingyas are being killed and forced to leave their root spaces by the Myanmar Army.
