A graduate art therapy intern conducted individual art therapy sessions with a client at a private practice in the Pittsburgh region. The client sought help for her addiction to substances and began to explore past trauma through the process of art therapy. This paper provides an in-depth description of the client's unfolding process and her struggle to transcend her addiction and trauma.
