Synopsis I Wouldn’T Have It Any Other Way by : Samuel Myers Sr.

When it comes to the final analysis, all of us has a story to tell. The problem is that to tell it takes a lot of will and patience. And when you think about it, willingness and patience are not some things that a lot of people have. I titled this book I Wouldnt Have It Any Other Way. This title was not just chosen, there is a reason behind me coming up with this title. After reading this book, no doubt many are saying within yourselves, How in Gods world did he arrive at this title after having experienced all of the things that he has experienced? When I look at my parents, siblings, and those that have shared many of the same experiences that I have, I decided to use all of these things as a stepping-stone, not as a stumbling block. I viewed these occurrences through the eyes of God. When I did, I said that I would not have it any other way. All of the different things that I personally have been through have enabled me to draw closer to God. Having such an intimacy with God has caused me to get to places in Him that I never imagined. I am mindful of the passage of scripture that is found in Romans 8:28. This scripture says that, And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. This being said, I feel that all things that were mentioned in the content of this book, both the good and not so good, have happened for my betterment. These are the things from my days of my infancy to this present time. With that being said, it was in the plan of God that I was born to Boston and Evelyn Myers. The things that they went through under the sharecropping system and the Jim Crow laws have helped me to value God and the things of God. The loss of my mother at an early age caused me to put my trust in God for my survival. The woodpile experience helped me to prepare for the establishment of a genuine relationship with God. Lastly, the union with Mary Elizabeth was not an accident. This most definitely was in the plan of God. My three sons that came out from this union was also in the plan of God. What can I say? I cannot say anything but that I Will Not Have It Any Other Way.

Synopsis A Way of Life, Like Any Other by : Darcy O'Brien

This PEN/Hemingway Award winner about coming of age in Los Angeles is a “little gem of a novel . . . a masterwork of Hollywood fiction” (Salon). He’s a child of 1940s Hollywood—specifically, Casa Fiesta, a ranch in the Malibu hills that he shares with his mother, a onetime Broadway headliner, and his father, a star of Westerns. But when his parents fall out of favor in Tinseltown, the narrator of this exquisitely crafted dark comedy loses his youthful idyll and accompanies his lovesick mother on a vodka-soaked international quest for romance and redemption. Meanwhile, his father lives in “diminished circumstances” in California, clinging to his silver-screen mementos, trusting that, someday soon, his ex-wife and his career will return. Tired of tending bar at his mother’s parties and listening to his father’s sad tales of former glory, the boy moves in with his best friend’s family in Beverly Hills. But nothing in La-La Land is quite what it seems, and when his new home turns out to be just as dysfunctional as the last, our teenage hero must somehow learn to accept his parents while finding the courage to break free and become his own man. This award-winning novel, “a kind of Catcher in the Rye for the Cheap Trick generation” (GQ), was cited by the Guardian as one of the “ten best neglected literary masterpieces.” Written by a New York Times–bestselling author who was a child of Hollywood movie stars himself, it has been praised for its “spectacularly deadpan humor” by the Atlantic Monthly and called “an insightful coming-of-age tale” by the Austin Chronicle.

Synopsis Any Way the Wind Blows by : Rainbow Rowell

New York Times bestselling author Rainbow Rowell's epic fantasy, the Simon Snow trilogy, concludes with Any Way the Wind Blows. In Carry On, Simon Snow and his friends realized that everything they thought they understood about the world might be wrong. And in Wayward Son, they wondered whether everything they understood about themselves might be wrong. Now, Simon and Baz and Penelope and Agatha must decide how to move forward. For Simon, that means choosing whether he still wants to be part of the World of Mages — and if he doesn't, what does that mean for his relationship with Baz? Meanwhile Baz is bouncing between two family crises and not finding any time to talk to anyone about his newfound vampire knowledge. Penelope would love to help, but she's smuggled an American Normal into London, and now she isn't sure what to do with him. And Agatha? Well, Agatha Wellbelove has had enough. Any Way the Wind Blows takes the gang back to England, back to Watford, and back to their families for their longest and most emotionally wrenching adventure yet. This book is a finale. It tells secrets and answers questions and lays ghosts to rest. The Simon Snow Trilogy was conceived as a book about Chosen One stories; Any Way the Wind Blows is an ending about endings—about catharsis and closure, and how we choose to move on from the traumas and triumphs that try to define us.
