Fifteen centuries prior to the golden age of Greece, a sophisticated civilization thrived in Crete and its sister culture of Mycenae on mainland Greece. They soared to grandeur and reigned over the Eastern Mediterranean, nestled between, and even trading with the cultures of Egypt and Phoenicia.
