Allah preserved the Sunnah by enabling the Companions and those after them to memorise, write down and pass on the statements of the Messenger Muhammad and the descriptions of his Way, as well as to continue the blessings of practising the Sunnah. The importance of aḥādīth and the Sunnah within the framework of Islam cannot be overemphasized; they are foundational aspects of our belief and practice. There are two primary sources of Islam: The Quran and Sunnah. Broadly speaking, the Quran provides us with general rules, principles, morals, values, ethics, and ideas while the Sunnah provides the details. In other words, the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ is a detailed explanation of what is mentioned by Allah ﷻ in the Quran.
