Synopsis An Experimental Study of the Pressure and Heat-transfer Distribution on a 70° Sweep Slab Delta Wing in Hypersonic Flow by : Mitchel H. Bertram
Results are presented for a study of the pressure and heat-transfer distributions and force characteristics of slab delta wings of 70° sweep at Mach numbers of 6.8 and 9.6 in air and 18 in helium. The wings had cylindrical leading edges and were tested with two different noses. One was sharp in plan view and the other was a tangent sphere with the same diameter as the cylindrical leading edge. Simple approaches to predicting the heat transfer are shown to be successful if the flow pattern peculiar to the angle-of-attack range under consideration is taken into account.

Synopsis Hypersonic Lifting Body Windward Surface Flow-field Analysis for High Angles of Incidence by : John C. Adams (Jr.)
Formulation and application of a windward surface flow-field (inviscid and viscous) analysis is presented for general lifting body configurations at high angles of incidence under hypersonic perfect gas conditions. The technique applies a strip theory concept, leading to an infinite extent yawed body treatment applied in the windward surface crossflow plane for both the inviscid and viscous (boundary layer) flow fields. The boundary-layer analysis is based on the governing equations for yawed blunt body boundary layers.

Synopsis Experimental Heat-transfer Distributions on a Blunt Lifting Body at Mach 3.71 by : Robert L. Stallings
The composite body consisted of a spherical nose segment, a delta-slab upper surface with blunt leading edges, wedge sides, and a conical lower surface. The tests were conducted both with and without roughness on the model for a range of angle of attack up to 400. Included is a complete tabulation of the experimental heatii rates and a discussion of the more significant findings.
