Amethyst explains everything to her parents about the Gemworld and her many recent disappearances. Back at Castle Amethyst, she takes a long time to train and become increasingly strong in different disciplines. For his part, Granch, along with his siblings, attacks the fortress of Opal.

While she plays basketball at her school, an event occurs that brings Amy Winston back to the Gemworld. At Emerald Domain, a ceremony is held to allow Princess Emerald to become Lady Emerald. A link between these two events will lead to the meeting of Amethyst, Lady Turquoise and the young Princess Emerald in the Gemworld. Together they try to defeat an unexpected enemy.

Dark Opal has convinced some dangerous characters to help him in his battle against Amethyst and her allies. Amethyst realizes she must increasingly direct her people and lead them to the expectations they have toward her. A daughter of Lady Emerald finds it hard to see her mother depressed and passive.
