Synopsis How Should We Then Live? (L'Abri 50th Anniversary Edition) by : Francis A. Schaeffer
As one of the foremost evangelical thinkers of the twentieth century, Francis Schaeffer long pondered the fate of declining Western culture. In this brilliant book he analyzed the reasons for modern society's state of affairs and presented the only viable alternative: living by the Christian ethic, acceptance of God's revelation, and total affirmation of the Bible's morals, values, and meaning.

Synopsis Middle and Upper Paleolithic Sites in the Eastern Hemisphere by : Yoshihiro Nishiaki
This book provides an overview of the archaeological sites and cultural assemblages in the world and presents an archaeological database that has been established through two large-scale research projects conducted between 2010 and 2022. The projects were Replacement of the Neanderthals by Modern Humans (2010–2015) and The Cultural History of PaleoAsia (2016–2022), both of which were carried out with the aid of the Japanese Government. They deal with multi-disciplinary studies of the demise of more archaic hominins and the survival of anatomically modern humans. Although the database is designated PaleoAsiaDB, which may imply a focus on Asia, it incorporates the dataset collected from Africa and Europe by the Replacement of the Neanderthals by Modern Humans project. PaleoAsiaDB provides a list of more than 3,300 sites and 7,600 cultural assemblages of the Middle and Upper Paleolithic (Middle and Late Stone Age) of the Eastern Hemisphere as of 2020. This database is the first attempt of its kind to document the related sites of 200-20ka. The full version of the database is available at the University Museum on the University of Tokyo homepage.

Synopsis Violence and the State in Suharto's Indonesia by : Benedict Richard O'Gorman Anderson
Nine chapters examine the political contexts, uses, and implications of violence under and within Suharto's regime in Indonesia. An unhappy spectrum of violence is described: crime and policing, military ideology and democratic resistance, the imposition of austerity measures and the riots that followed.

Synopsis The Indonesian Armed Forces (ABRI) by : Patrick Cronin
Much of the uncertainty concerns the prospective political succession to President Suharto. As the President's age increasingly poses the succession issue, it is not clear that there is a strong set of institutions to guide a smooth transition. In fact, the only truly integrated national institution is the armed forces (known by its Indonesian acronym, ABRI). Exactly because of ABRI's central role in Indonesia, it is essential that the United States and its friends in the region understand the Indonesian military.
