Synopsis The Holy Spirit and Reformed Spirituality by : Joel R. Beeke
How does God bring His Word into our lives? The answer is: by the Holy Spirit. By the Spirit the Word was revealed and written. By the Spirit the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. By the Spirit the Word roots itself in the hearts of sinners and produces fruit. Calvin recognized long ago that the Holy Spirit is the bond of union between believers and Christ. Jonathan Edwards said that the Spirit is the sum of all Christ bought for His people with His precious blood. How precious then is the Spirit, and how important to know Him and His ways! In this book, a team of pastor-theologians uncover the rich biblical teachings about the work of the Holy Spirit. How was the Spirit involved in the human life of Jesus Christ? What is a spiritual person? How does the Spirit open the mind of sinners to trust in Christ? What does it mean to serve God in the power of the Spirit? How does the Spirit's sovereign work relate to our responsibility in evangelism? These questions and more are addressed in this book. Synopsis To God Be the Glory by : LaReine Miller
TO GOD BE THE GLORY is my tribute to the Heavenly Father who has granted me the gift of poetic inspiration-a gift I cherish dearly. I had to stop last year (then 1997) and ask God how He wanted me to use this gift. He answered me by allowing me to create 15 poems in 11 days that I was expected to share with others-which, of course, I did. Without this gift, I could not share with you what a few have had an opportunity to read. Thank You, Lord God. The poems contained in this volume were written as thoughts of God's goodness and mercy, His love and compassion, and His overwhelming grace were made evident to me through my life or the lives of people He brought my way. I would be remiss not to give Him the glory. I can never thank Him enough for the blessing that He has allowed my words to be for the people these poems were presented to or with whom I was allowed to share them. OUR HEAVENLY FATHER has given each of us special gifts. Many of us choose to play around with them, but never use them to enhance His kingdom. He's given everyone of us talents that are uniquely ours. Yes, some of us can draw, sing, dance, write, cook, heal, and/or entertain others. All of us have some God-given gift that has endeared us to someone else, even if it's nothing more than caring and taking care of one's fellow person. Don't waste or take for granted the abilities that God has given you. For if you fail to use them for the good of this world, you will find yourself without them. Share your gifts with others. No matter how insignificant they may appear to be to you, they may prove to be a blessing for someone else to enjoy. God Bless!

Synopsis The Gift of the Holy Spirit by : John Reuther
This book studies the Person and work of the Holy Spirit as He is revealed throughout redemptive history, where His ministries come into sharp focus. It begins with the personal promise of the gift for all who are regenerated, based on the promises of the Old Testament, John, and Jesus. It explores His nature as the third Person of the Trinity by looking into the meaning of His names, His properties, and His manifestations in history. The book explores the ministries of the Spirit in conversion and throughout the Christian life, looking at His personal ministries in regeneration, Spirit baptism, sealing, anointing, illumination, witness, leading, praying, filling, fruit, and spiritual gifts. The last part looks at how we are to live in the Spirit in this age, and what our expectations should be. The book deals with important issues in pneumatology, including the issue of cessation and continuation of spiritual gifts, but most importantly, safeguarding the love of the Spirit by not grieving or quenching Him.
