Synopsis The Reason for My Hope by : Billy Graham
The saving message of the Gospel is the heartbeat of this preacher and evangelist. Millions around the world heard Billy Graham proclaim this unchanging truth. He never forgot the transformation of his own life, when he first said yes to God’s gift of salvation, and he witnessed multitudes turn their hearts to the God of Hope. What is the most hopeful word in History? For Billy Graham, that word is SALVATION. Billy Graham proclaimed God's Gospel with resolve and deep compassion. It is a message he preached for more than seventy years. And in this book you will sense its urgency, filled with hope for the future. Salvation is what we all long for, when we are lost or in danger or have made a mess of our lives. And salvation belongs to us, when we reach out for the only One who can rescue us—Jesus. The Reason for My Hope: Salvation presents the essence of that transformative message. It is biblical and timeless, and though simple and direct, it is far from easy. There are hard words, prophetic words, directed toward a culture that denies the reality of sin and distracts us from the veracity of Hell. But through its ominous warnings shines a light that cannot be extinguished—a beacon of hope that Jesus came “to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).

Synopsis Reason for the Hope Within by : Michael J. Murray
During the last two decades there has been a renaissance in the field of Christian philosophy. Unfortunately, most of this excellent work has not reached general readers. Reason for the Hope Within was produced specifically to make available the best of contemporary Christian philosophy in a clear, accessible -- and highly relevant -- manner. Fourteen of America's rising Christian philosophers here cover many of the traditional themes of Christian apologetics (arguments for the existence of God, the problem of evil, the possibility of miracles) as well as topics of special relevance to today's world (Eastern religions, Christianity and science, Christianity and ethics, the existence of heaven and hell).

Synopsis Rising with Jesus by : Donald W Patterson
Prayer is a heart to heart talk with God. So often, our prayers share what's on our hearts, but that doesn't mean they are what God wants to hear. In a mutual relationship, we all want to be heard as much as we want to hear. I firmly believe that God wants to hear us pray about the things that are important to him as much as we pray about what's important to us. Take a look at the Lord's Prayer. When Jesus taught us to pray, it was all about what God wants, not what we want. For me the "Daily Prayer" has become a way to make sure I'm listening to God as much as I'm asking him to listen to me. Instead of only telling God what's on my fallen heart, I seek to be renewed by his word first. That's why every daily prayer begins with a passage from God's word. God speaks to me in the passage and I speak to him about what he said. This way I remember to pray back to him my desires to live out his word in my life. I show him that I'm listening and I want to please him. Praying this way has elevated my prayer life above the usual laundry list of "I want" or "I need." I hope this one-year collection will do the same for you. I want to give you thoughts to share with God that are pleasing to both of you. Spend a few months using my prayers and you will find your own "give and take" with God over his word. No matter how you end up using this book of prayers, may they become a blessing to your daily walk with God. He loves you beyond comprehension and has good plans for you that you cannot yet imagine. Donald grew up in Garland, Texas. He and his wife Mary have four sons and three grandsons. Donald is a senior pastor in Austin, Texas, where he has served since 1992. In addition to his pastoral duties, Donald serves the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) as president of the South-Central district. He has spoken at numerous marriage retreats, men's and women's retreats, leadership conferences and seminars. Synopsis Reasons for Our Hope by : H. Wayne House
In the light of the threats posed to Christianity by militant Islam, intolerant secularism, and widespread misinformation (The Da Vinci Code, the Jesus Seminar, etc.), the necessity of informed and articulate defense of the Christian faith today can hardly be contested. Reasons for Our Hope offers a sophisticated yet accessible guide to "destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and . . . taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5). The book's 31 chapters are divided into four sections: • Apologetics Methodologies and Systems - with chapters on worldviews, the tension between faith and reason, etc. • Apologetics in Scripture and in History - a look at apologetics in the Old and New Testaments, early church, middle ages, the Reformation, Enlightenment, and today. • Apologetic Problems - issues such as the value of philosophy, dealing with skepticism, the problem of evil, miracles, the Resurrection, etc. • How to Use Apologetics in Engaging the World - how to engage the Cultist, Secularist, Postmodernist, Muslim, and Eastern Mystic.

Synopsis Our Reason for Hope by : T. Leong
The meaning of history is about the purpose and goal of history. According to the Old Testament this involves redeeming humanity and transforming civilization toward an eternal hope of a world in which every longing is fulfilled and every fear is no more. When the Old Testament is understood on its terms, it reveals a marvelous vision of that hope. To capture this vision as well as present credible reason for the hope, this book interweaves into one coherent exposition five strands of Old Testament studies usually separated into different books: theology, ethics, mission, history, apologetics.
