Synopsis A Knight in Tarnished Armor by : David Oldakowski
A Knight in Tarnished Armor is a collection of memoirs, song lyrics, and poems. It spans over 5 decades and is a representation of my life story. Many people throughout my life have told me that I should write a book and well this is it. It was next to impossible to recall all the dates so this book is in alphabetical order rather than chronological. The two longest poems I ever wrote are on pg.62 and 82 where this one was produced as a song. My first world-wide publication is on pg.27 as it was published in the Alcoholics Anonymous Grapevine monthly magazine both nationally and in many other countries and languages around the world. The poem on pg.110 won a prestigious Emily Dickenson National Society of Poetry award. The song "Ready for War" right after the Dedication at the opening of this book was written, recorded, and produced on YouTube by Ean Leppin who is my general manager at the radio station where I work. I hope you find something of value for yourself on the pages within!

Synopsis Sustained by : Emma Chase
Emma Chase, New York Times bestselling author of the Tangled series, returns with a funny, romantic, sexy story! A knight in tarnished armor is still a knight. When you’re a defense attorney in Washington, DC, you see firsthand how hard life can be, and that sometimes the only way to survive is to be harder. I, Jake Becker, have a reputation for being cold, callous, and intimidating—and that suits me just fine. In fact, it’s necessary when I’m breaking down a witness on the stand. Complications don’t work for me—I’m a “need-to-know” type of man. If you’re my client, tell me the basic facts. If you’re my date, stick to what will turn you on. I’m not a therapist or Prince Charming—and I don’t pretend to be. Then Chelsea McQuaid and her six orphaned nieces and nephews came along and complicated the ever-loving hell out of my life. Now I’m going to Mommy and Me classes, One Direction concerts, the emergency room, and arguing cases in the principal’s office. Chelsea’s too sweet, too innocent, and too gorgeous for her own good. She tries to be tough, but she’s not. She needs someone to help her, defend her…and the kids. And that—that, I know how to do.

Synopsis Knight by : Robert Jones
From a life-long student of the medieval long sword and medieval history comes a comprehensive overview of the Age of the Knights. Jones shows that behind the popular image of the knight in shining armor lies a world that is both more complex and more fascinating. Were knights glory-seeking, bloodthirsty thugs that lay ravage to the Holy Land or simple Christians serving their king? Jones explores the myths and controversies behind their battle-effectiveness and chivalric code. He also examines knighthood as a "career path" and investigates the role of the knight in law and justice. Lavishly illustrated and drawing on rare first-hand accounts, this book reveals the world of the knight in all its tarnished glory.

Synopsis The Art of the Public Grovel by : Susan Wise Bauer
Whether you are a politician caught carrying on with an intern or a minister photographed with a prostitute, discovery does not necessarily spell the end of your public career. Admit your sins carefully, using the essential elements of an evangelical confession identified by Susan Wise Bauer in The Art of the Public Grovel, and you, like Bill Clinton, just might survive. In this fascinating and important history of public confession in modern America, Bauer explains why and how a type of confession that first arose among nineteenth-century evangelicals has today become the required form for any successful public admission of wrongdoing--even when the wrongdoer has no connection with evangelicalism and the context is thoroughly secular. She shows how Protestant revivalism, group psychotherapy, and the advent of talk TV combined to turn evangelical-style confession into a mainstream secular rite. Those who master the form--Bill Clinton, Jimmy Swaggart, David Vitter, and Ted Haggard--have a chance of surviving and even thriving, while those who don't--Ted Kennedy, Jim Bakker, Cardinal Bernard Law, Mark Foley, and Eliot Spitzer--will never really recover. Revealing the rhetoric, theology, and history that lie behind every successful public plea for forgiveness, The Art of the Public Grovel will interest anyone who has ever wondered why Clinton is still popular while Bakker fell out of public view, Ted Kennedy never got to be president, and Law moved to Rome.

Synopsis The Odette C. Bell Fantasy Bundle by : Odette C. Bell
Are you ready for four adventure-packed fantasies from Odette C. Bell? Consisting of the complete Gladys the Guard, Agent of Light, Superheroes Don’t Wear Heels, and The Witch and the Commander, this bundle is over 300,000 words of action, adventure, and romance, so dive in today and soar free with Odette C. Bell adventures. Gladys the Guard Gladys is a mild-mannered girl, living in a mild-mannered town. Working in a local haberdashery store, she stacks pastel-colored yarns and sticks labels on jam jars. She’s single, carless, and lives with her mad grandma. The only interesting thing about her is also the saddest: Gladys is unusually good at arcade games. But when strange, yowling, terribly violent things happen in town, Gladys soon finds out she might be the only haberdashery store attendant who can stop them, and that, luckily for everyone else, her skills with plastic guns extend to the real variety. … Agent of Light Agent Mira works for a shadowy agency called (imaginatively) the Agency. She forms part of the line of defense between good and bad - between Heaven itself and the fiery depths of Hell. When she’s plunged into fights beyond her skills, they push her straight into the arms of the Agency’s finest officer, Michael. From the sudden appearance of a childlike angel, to the unwanted attention of the police, Mira won’t catch a break. Good – Hell doesn’t want her to. It has a plan, and Mira will fulfil it or be bled dry of every drop of her light and life. … Superheroes Don’t Wear Heels Annie hates superheroes, a fact she will freely and loudly admit to anyone who will listen. They are a drain on public resources and give people the mistaken belief that anyone can look good in stretch tights. If only the city spent less on keeping buffoons in capes and more on effective disaster planning, the world would be a better place. Superheroes aren't the solution; they're the problem. Annie’s so sure superheroes aren't worth the colored plastic they've been molded from, that it takes a plot of the rather epic supervillain kind to prove her wrong. It's a hard lesson to learn, and one that involves far more kabooms, pows, capes, and dashing tights-wearing men than your average reality check. But at the end of the day, a lesson’s a lesson, even if it carries a shrink ray. … The Witch and the Commander Abby is a witch; she has a broom and a cat named Charlie. But around these parts witches aren’t popular. So when she finds herself at the mercy of an ancient spell with no one to rely on but a distant man, she must count on more than her magic to survive. Pembrake can’t stand her at first. But her endearing charm and innocence soon grow on him. Dangerous, because it will drive him to protect her, and that may prove impossible.

Synopsis An Affair with Mr. Kennedy by : Jillian Stone
For years, the memory of a deadly bombing at King's Cross has haunted brilliant Scotland Yard detective Zeno "Zak" Kennedy. In London, 1887, his investigation zeroes in on a ring of aristocratic rebels campaigning for Irish revolution, and pulls him into the arms of free-spirited Cassandra St. Cloud, an impressionist painter with very modern ideas about life and love.
