In the process of learning a foreign language, it is essential to learn the culture of the relevant nation. From this point of view, learning proverbs is an indispensable element in learning a language. The use of proverbs belonging to that language at the appropriate time by those who study a foreign language also carries direct traces about the level of language learning. The use of proverbs is important for every language. Considering Turkish learning and Turks in particular, it can be said that Turks often make use of proverbs in their daily speech and when they hear a proverb from someone who is learning Turkish, they welcome it. Although there are different tense structures in Turkish Proverbs, the present tense is mainly used. In addition, it is seen that words are used with a figurative meaning other than their dictionary meanings from time to time. In our book, proverbs are explained in detail in terms of both the meaning of the words in the Turkish language and the meaning of the message to be given in the proverbs.
