DescriptionThe sickening murders of two close friends, Imelda Hart and Mabel Bright, begin a terrifying and sinister journey into the strange happenings of a small English town where sleep can mean torture, extreme psychological torment, and ultimately death for millions of other people worldwide. To fall asleep means to be watched by those who have appeared from nowhere and sleep when their work is done. The long, black, deathly cars patrol the streets now owned by this group of unknown, evil and crazy men called the Masters. On the streets their drones, powered by thoughts and callous orders, collect wandering spirits and still wide-awake souls for the nightmarish world they have created. Min, Ritchie and their friends find themselves caught up this seemingly unending hell. The Masters can take you when you are awake and also while you sleep, in a place where the real world and the imaginary one collide with devastating consequences. The Masters and drones are symbols, symbols of something else, deep within the subconscious mind, creating a strange scenario that just won't let anyone go - not today, tomorrow or at any time in the future, whether in this world or the next. About the AuthorBorn in Wrexham, North Wales without a plan but as it sometimes does, destiny came calling. It put a pen in Mark Jones' hand and many stories in his mind. Where this particular idea came from is a mystery as big as why it was given to him, but he hopes others enjoy the story as much as he enjoyed writing it.

When the exhausted winter wind throws a snowy tantrum, it finds comfort in the friendship of two young children in this lyrical retelling of a Yiddish folktale illustrated with stunning collage. Winter Wind worked hard all season long blowing away leaves, preparing trees for coats of snow and ice. Now, Wind is tired and needs a place to rest. But no one wants to shelter so cold and blustery a Wind--not the townspeople, not the country innkeeper, not even the gnarled tree who is worried about frozen roots. Finally, Wind does what any of us do when we are overtired: Wind has a tantrum. And it is only with the help of two small children brave enough to weather the storm that Wind finally finds the perfect place to sleep. Based on a Yiddish folktale, the gentle language of this seasonal story is coupled with intricate cut-paper collage dioramas tell this sweet tale about empathy and friendship. The visuals in this book are striking for their vibrancy, palette, and movement. A perfect read for a cold, blustery day, or at bedtime with your own sleepy loved ones. This gorgeous series of large format photographs illustrates the sound of wind, made visible by the subtlest movements of tree branches, leaves, and a seemingly endless number of birds in flight and at rest. Comprising 62 photographs, Can You Hear the Wind Blow beckons the viewer into what appears to be a wide-open forest of single trees, each with enough space to move freely in the wind. The trees are portrayed as stoic individuals, at once deeply rooted and flexible, planted at an unknown time in an unknown paradise. In actual fact, all of the photographs in the book were made between 2008 and 2017, and simply depict a row of neglected street trees in an alley between the artist’s studio and home in Seoul. One of his country’s most important contemporary artists, Kim Jungman was born in Cheolwon, South Korea in 1954. He moved as a teenager to Burkina Faso, Africa and then to Europe, studying painting École Nationale Supérieure d’Art at Villa Arson in Nice, France. It was there that he discovered his passion for photography. He moved back to Seoul and soon gained fame for his edgy, often controversial work as the country’s premier commercial and fashion photographer. In 2006, Jungman Kim left his flourishing career as a commercial photographer to pursue his personal work, photographing the countryside of his native country. Can You Hear the Wind Blow was published to accompany a major exhibition of the work at The Hanmi Museum of Photography, Seoul and Three Shadows Gallery in Beijing.
