Synopsis Yeshua's Path (Disciple's Handbook) by : Larry (Eliyahu) Hefley

God created you just way He wants you to be, and He loves you. But "Like sheep, we have all wondered away." (Isaiah 53:6, Genesis 1:31, John 16:27)God wants you to return to Him. And this invitation is open to anyone, (whosoever) no matter what they have done in the past.Rom 10:11, "For the Scripture says, "Whosoever is trusting on Him will not be put to shame."" (Isaiah 28:16, John 3:16)The only thing He requires of you, up front, is to recognize your need for God, and His solution.Matthew 5:3, "Happy are those who recognize that they are spiritually deficient, because that is the first step to the Kingdom of Heaven."If you don't think you have a problem, you will not come to God for His solution. (Mat 9:12)What did Yeshua* teach and model to His disciples?Yeshua gathered 12 disciples and instructed them for 3 years. (Mt 4:19, 8:22, 9:9 16:24, 19:21, etc.) During the first year He traveled with them personally instructing them primarily by example. They in turn were sent out in 6 teams of twos to disciple others. (Mt 10, Mark 6:7) Later there were 72 disciples, which is exactly 6 new congregations of 12 disciples. (Luke 10:1) They were to multiply using the pattern, or path, that Yeshua taught them. (Philip 3:16) Yeshua said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all Gentiles, immersing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to guard everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always." (Mt 28:18-20) This booklet shares the Path of Yeshua in its most basic form. His Path is taken from the Scripture, mostly Paul's Letters and is very different from the modern church or synagogue model. This book covers Romans through Timothy, which takes you up to Apostle Level, the same stuff that Yeshua taught His Disciples to transform them into Apostles.

Synopsis Forming Intentional Disciples by : Sherry A. Weddell

How can we transmit a living, personal Catholic faith to future generations? By coming to know Jesus Christ, and following him as his disciples. These are times of immense challenge and immense opportunity for the Catholic Church. Consider these statistics for the United States. Only 30 percent of Americans who were raised Catholic are still practicing. Fully 10 percent of all adults in America are ex-Catholics. The number of marriages celebrated in the Church decreased dramatically, by nearly 60 percent, between 1972 and 2010. Only 60 percent of Catholics believe in a personal God. If the Church is to reverse these trends, the evangelizers must first be evangelized-in other words, Catholics-in-the-pew must make a conscious choice to know and follow Jesus before they can draw others to him. This work of discipleship lies at the heart of Forming Intentional Disciples, a book designed to help Church leaders, parish staff and all Catholics transform parish life from within. Drawing upon her fifteen years of experience with the Catherine of Siena Institute, Sherry Weddell leads readers through steps that will help Catholics enter more deeply into a relationship with God and the river of apostolic creativity, charisms, and vocation that flow from that relationship for the sake of the Church and the world. Learn about the five thresholds of postmodern conversion, how to open a conversation about faith and belief, how to ask thought-provoking questions and establish an atmosphere of trust, when to tell the Great Story of Jesus, how to help someone respond to God's call to intentional discipleship, and much more. And be prepared for conversion because when life at the parish level changes, the life of the whole Church will change.

Jesus must be our model for ministry. Sounds obvious, right? Or is it? Jesus, in all His humanity (and all His divinity) shows us the best possible way to live. Through the way He lived, He modeled the priorities of how to multiply “much fruit.” Following Jesus' example, His disciples then changed the course of history. How then can we follow Jesus’ example? We must study His life. How did Jesus pray? In what types of relationships did He invest? Where were His priorities? Can my priorities be His priorities? Can I walk like He walked? What we do with Jesus MATTERS. Global ministry trainer Dann Spader practically and helpfully walks us through 10 weeks of exciting, ministry-altering study to really begin to walk as Jesus walked.

Synopsis The Way of Jesus by : Reed C L Richardi

The Way of Jesus: A Guide for Disciples is a Bible study series exploring what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. The longer I live the more enamored I become with Jesus. He simply is amazing. In recent years I have not only fallen more in love with who Jesus is but have come to deeply appreciate the way Jesus lived and how He invited others to join Him in that Way. In the earliest days, followers of the Way did not call themselves Christians but instead described their new life and relationship with Jesus in terms of disciples following a master. This deceptively simple, yet profoundly powerful relationship of disciple and master, was the framework through which Jesus led and His followers followed. Through the journey of discipleship, angry, proud, incompetent, bickering disciples were transformed to be like Jesus. I want to be like them because I want to be like Him. If you want the same, then I want to invite you to join me on this journey. No matter where you are in your walk, Jesus' invitation to "Follow me" is aimed at you. Through the teachings of Jesus, the examples of His followers, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we will delve into the heart of discipleship. We will discuss the challenges, the joys, and the profound impact that discipleship can have on our lives and on those around us. Each session is designed to encourage reflection and discussion, foster spiritual growth, and equip us to live out our relationship with Jesus with purpose and conviction.
