Inspired by a box of old photographs of her ancestors given to her after her mother's death, Merryweather spent years and countless hours researching the stories behind these faces. Merryweather has developed a microcosm of American social history: from immigration and essential farming life, to the western frontier, through the growth of cities, the introduction of higher education throughout the land, and up to the current age of technology. About the Author Marilyn Way Merryweather received a BA from Cornell University and an MA in history from the University of Akron. She and her husband, Tom, currently reside in Akron, Ohio and Oro Valley, Arizona. They have been married for forty-eight years.
