Synopsis Thermal Field Theories And Their Applications - Proceedings Of The 4th International Workshop by : Yuan-xing Gui
Thermal field theory is the study of quantum field theory at non-zero temperature. This proceedings introduces both retrospect and prospect for various aspects of thermal field theory as well as their extensive applications to condensed matter physics, high energy physics, cosmology, nuclear physics, etc. Also included are speeches memorizing the recently lamented Professor Hiroomi Umezawa, a leading physicist in thermal field theory, by his former students and colleagues.

Synopsis Thermal Quantum Field Theory and Perturbative Non-Equilibrium Dynamics by : Peter Millington
The author develops a new perturbative formalism of non-equilibrium thermal quantum field theory for non-homogeneous backgrounds. As a result of this formulation, the author is able to show how so-called pinch singularities can be removed, without resorting to ad hoc prescriptions, or effective resummations of absorptive effects. Thus, the author arrives at a diagrammatic approach to non-equilibrium field theory, built from modified Feynman rules that are manifestly time-dependent from tree level. This new formulation provides an alternative framework in which to derive master time evolution equations for physically meaningful particle number densities, which are valid to all orders in perturbation theory and to all orders in gradient expansion. Once truncated in a loop-wise sense, these evolution equations capture non-equilibrium dynamics on all time-scales, systematically describing energy-violating processes and the non-Markovian evolution of memory effects

Synopsis Thermal Field Theory: Banff/cap Workshop On - Proceedings Of The 3rd Workshop On Thermal Field Theories And Their Applications by : Faqir C Khanna
Finite temperature field theory is playing an increasingly important role in our understanding of fundamental interactions. It is relevant to condensed matter physics, early universe cosmology, astrophysics, particle physics, nuclear physics and quantum optics. The proceedings of the Banff/CAP Summer School and Workshop comprise the outcome of the third international workshop hold on finite temperature field theory. The over 50 papers include five pedagogical lecture series given by well known experts in the field, as well as invited technical seminars and contributed talks.

Synopsis Many-body Physics - Proceedings Of The International Conference by : Carlos Fiolhais
These proceedings discuss the quantal system with many particles mainly from the theoretical point of view. The topics discussed include the relativistic nuclear many-body problem, perspective in hadron structure, mean-field and semiclassical methods, thermal theories, symmetries and group theoretical methods, and density functional theories.

Synopsis Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Frontiers in Intelligent Computing: Theory and Applications (FICTA) 2015 by : Swagatam Das
The proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Frontiers in Intelligent Computing: Theory and Applications 2015 (FICTA 2015) serves as the knowledge centre not only for scientists and researchers in the field of intelligent computing but also for students of post-graduate level in various engineering disciplines. The book covers a comprehensive overview of the theory, methods, applications and tools of Intelligent Computing. Researchers are now working in interdisciplinary areas and the proceedings of FICTA 2015 plays a major role to accumulate those significant works in one arena. The chapters included in the proceedings inculcates both theoretical as well as practical aspects of different areas like Nature Inspired Algorithms, Fuzzy Systems, Data Mining, Signal Processing, Image processing, Text Processing, Wireless Sensor Networks, Network Security and Cellular Automata.

Synopsis Fluctuations and Order by : Mark Millonas
The volume that you have before you is the result of a growing realization that fluctuations in nonequilibrium systems playa much more important role than was 1 first believed. It has become clear that in nonequilibrium systems noise plays an active, one might even say a creative, role in processes involving self-organization, pattern formation, and coherence, as well as in biological information processing, energy transduction, and functionality. Now is not the time for a comprehensive summary of these new ideas, and I am certainly not the person to attempt such a thing. Rather, this short introductory essay (and the book as a whole) is an attempt to describe where we are at present and how the viewpoint that has evolved in the last decade or so differs from those of past decades. Fluctuations arise either because of the coupling of a particular system to an ex ternal unknown or "unknowable" system or because the particular description we are using is only a coarse-grained description which on some level is an approxima tion. We describe the unpredictable and random deviations from our deterministic equations of motion as noise or fluctuations. A nonequilibrium system is one in which there is a net flow of energy. There are, as I see it, four basic levels of sophistication, or paradigms, con cerning fluctuations in nature. At the lowest level of sophistication, there is an implicit assumption that noise is negligible: the deterministic paradigm.

Synopsis Recent Progress In Many-body Theories - Proceedings Of The 11th International Conference by : Raymond F Bishop
Quantum many-body theory as a discipline in its own right dates largely from the 1950's. It has developed since then to its current position as one of the cornerstones of modern theoretical physics. The field remains vibrant and active, vigorous and exciting. Its most powerful techniques are truly universal. They are constantly expanding to find new fields of application, while advances continue to be made in the more traditional areas. To commemorate the impending 80th birthdays of its two co-inventors, Firtz Coester and Hermann Kümmel, one such technique, namely the coupled cluster method, was especially highlighted at this meeting, the eleventh in the series of International Conferences on Recent Progress in Many-Body Theories. The history of the coupled cluster method as told here mirrors in many ways both the development of the entire discipline of microscopic quantum many-body theory and the history of the series of conferences. The series itself is universally recognised as being the premier series of meetings in this subject area. Its proceedings have always summarised the current state of the art through the lectures of its leading practitioners. The present volume is no exception. No serious researcher in quantum many-body theory or in any field which uses it can afford to be without this volume.

Synopsis Thermal Field Theories by : H. Ezawa
Theories of quantum fields at non-zero temperature have been steadily developed for well over a decade. In 1988, as a result of the increased demand for communication among theorists working in different fields ranging from condensed matter physics to high energy physics and astrophysics, the first international meeting was organized (the proceedings of which have been published in Physica A 158, 1989). This 2nd workshop covers similar fields, namely equilibrium and non-equilibrium statistical physics, quantum optics, high-temperature gauge-field theories, string theories, statistical theories of gravitation and cosmology. The resulting proceedings reflect the progress made in the respective fields, identify the major common problems and suggest possible directions for their solutions.
