Memorials and biographical sketch of Theophilus Eaton (1591-1658), son of Richard and Mary Eaton of Stony Stratford, Oxfordshire England. He became a deputy governor of the East India Company, and served as the English Ambassador to Denmark. He moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1637, and became one of its magistrates before moving to New Haven, Connecticut, where he was the first Governor.
