Synopsis What Lies in the Hills by : Steve Kittner
Once again, Josh Baker and Eddie Debord find themselves among the hills, hollows, and rivers of West Virginia in yet another fast paced adventure mystery! What started out as a quiet week of camping during a beautiful "Indian Summer" over Thanksgiving break-ends up as an inexplicable week of suspense, mystery, adventure, and intrigue. The boys are the first responders to a crashed airplane deep within the woods. It doesn't take long to find out that this C-47 Skytrain had gone down in 1953 and was carrying a very mysterious and highly sensitive cargo. Very quickly, the CIA takes control of the crash site as Josh and Eddie find themselves under the microscope of the agency (for a very good reason!)! There are men in dark clothing watching them from around every corner. They seek the help of some familiar friends and some new acquaintances as well, while trying to find out what this mysterious cargo is and why it is still so important today. Thinking the CIA could be their worst nightmare, the boys could not have been more wrong. Who comes to town next will stop at nothing to reclaim what they say is theirs, and they are quick to prove it! Ultimately, Josh, Eddie and Brad must decide whether to let this one go, or to once again risk their lives to see it through. One thing is for sure...they cannot allow the cargo to fall into the wrong hands! ...Be careful wishing for big adventures...one may find you!!!

Synopsis Canoeing & Kayaking West Virginia by : Paul Davidson
Began as a collective effort by members of the West Virginia Wildwater Association in 1965, Wildwater West Virginia emerged as the preeminent guide to whitewater in West Virginia. Now part of a new series and a new name to boot, A Canoeing Guide to West Virginia continues this legacy, guiding boaters of all abilities to over 120 of West VirginiaÕs rivers, creeks and streams. The result of combined knowledge of hundreds of paddlers, this book gives paddlers all the information they need to paddle rivers safely and confidently: At a glance information helps boaters pick rivers to match their ability and current weather conditions, while river descriptions, gauge and shuttle route information provide additional critical information. More than an encyclopedia of mountain rivers and hydrologic data, Whitewater West Virginia is also a collection of experiences and an introduction to some of the most amazing geography in the east. Destined to ride in the dry bags and glove compartments of paddlers nationwide, this book continues to set the standard for all paddling guidebooks. Some of the rivers profiled include: Gauley River, North Branch of the Potomac, New River, Cheat River, Tygart River, Waites Run, Red Run, Roaring Creek, and Keeney Creek.

Synopsis Motorcycle Adventures in the Central Appalachians by : Hawk Hagebak
Motorcyclists who think they have the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia all figured out have another thing coming. In his third guide, Hawk Hagebak takes riders from bustling Market Square in downtown Roanoke, VA to the giant ridgetop windmills outside rural Davis, WV, and from the scenic wonder of the Natural Bridge to the engineering wonder of the New River Bridge. Outlining 25 routes, Hagebak chronicles a classic feud over a county seat, how French engineers came to build a road across Virginia, and the way coal mining changed the face of West Virginia for better and for worse. In between the tight turns, sweeping curves, covered bridges, tiny towns, and mountain passes of the Central Appalachians, he imparts tips on where to eat, stay, play, and relax.
