Myrtle the Turtle is a beautifully illustrated children's book that tells the charming story of a day in the life of a painted turtle. Children will want to learn more about the world of painted turtles once they've read her story. The photo and description of a real live painted turtle on the back cover of the book complement Myrtle's adventures. Myrtle the Turtle spends her days like any ordinary painted turtle in nature. She sleeps 'til dawn, grabs a bite to eat, swims a little, and visits with her friends, both in and out of her pond. She then spends the rest of the day lying on a log or rock in or near her pond. She quietly faces danger (her enemies) with calmness and quick thinking. Her natural instincts keep her safe. But one day some very strange animals show up at the pond, and Myrtle learns that being different is okay.

I created Myrtle the Talking Turtle as a throwback of names not very common anymore. I hope the reader enjoys this magical adventure story as well as the sequel series to follow!
