This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th IMA International Conference on Cryptography and Coding, held in Cirencester, UK in December 2003. The 25 revised full papers presented together with 4 invited contributions were carefully reviewed and selected from 49 submissions. This multi-authored textbook addresses graduate students with a background in physics, mathematics or computer science. No research experience is necessary.
