Naofumi and his friends defeat the Spirit Tortoise after it rampages across the country. They leave in search of the other missing heroes and meet Ost along the way, who says she is one of the Spirit Tortoise’s servants. She tells Naofumi that the Spirit Tortoise is still alive and that someone is pulling the strings to use the tortoise to destroy the world! Can Naofumi protect those he loves from this new danger?

Kanoko and Soma spend what little cash they have on a train ticket. From Tsukumoya Town, they travel to where Soma’s older brother Atsushi lives. With Kanoko’s power to hear lies, they aim to uncover clues as to why Atsushi set that trap for his younger brother Soma. It turns out the mysterious monsters that Naofumi and crew were asked to take care of can be traced back to the legendary beast known as the Spirit Tortoise. Meanwhile, the other three heroes have disappeared. What could they be up to? And what will the Spirit Tortoise do next?!

The otherworldly fantasy continues! Naofumi finally gets his revenge! But there’s a new problem: the heroes discover a dragon hourglass in an underwater shrine. They end up fighting a massive inter-dimensional whale, but nothing could prepare them for what happens next!

The only way for your own world to survive is to sacrifice another?! Naofumi and company head for the dragon hourglass with one of the four holy heroes of another world, Kizuna. But first, they need to earn some money—and they're going to do just that by putting on strange masks and starting an auction! But when they arrive at their destination, Naofumi begins to feel uneasy.

“I wasn’t expecting you to be in cahoots with the queen, that’s for sure.” Having defeated Kyo and left Kizuna and the others behind, Naofumi and his friends return to Melromarc. The Spirit Tortoise has left a deep scar on the world’s nations, including their own Melromarc. Now with the objective of preparing for future struggles against the waves and the deadly Phoenix, for some reason Naofumi heads straight to the slave trader?!
