This work concentrates upon families with a strong connection to Virginia and Kentucky, most of which are traced forward from the eighteenth, if not the seventeenth, century. The compiler makes ample use of published sources some extent original records, and the recollections of the oldest living members of a number of the families covered. Finally. The essays reflect a balanced mixture of genealogy and biography, which makes for interesting reading and a substantial number of linkages between as many as six generations of family members.

The volume at hand--a reprint of Volume II of the printed records of Cambridge--is a transcription of the records of Cambridge town meetings and meetings of selectmen from the town's beginnings until 1703.

Moses Granberry was born in about 1700. He married Elizabeth. They had eight children. He died in 1753 in Norfolk County, Virginia. Ancestors descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, Virginia, Massachusetts and Georgia.

Jacob Brinkley was born in Woodbridge, England and immigrated to Virginia in 1684. Wife's name was unknown. Sons were Peter and Isaac Brinkley. Descendants, relatives and allied families lived in North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio, New York, Maryland, Washington, Ireland, England, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere.

William Capell (b.1610), son of Sir Arthur Capell, immigrated in 1635 from England to St. Mary's County, Maryland. Descendants (chiefly spelling the surname Caples) lived in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas and elsewhere. Includes other Caples immigrants and some descendants, without tracing relationship to William. Includes ancestors in England, Ireland, France and elsewhere to 1030 A.D.
