Synopsis The Alstons and Allstons of North and South Carolina by : Joseph A. Groves
Excerpt from The Alstons and Allstons of North and South Carolina: Compiled From English, Colonial and Family Records With Personal Reminiscences; Also Notes of Some Allied Families My endeavor in compiling these notes has been to col lect the genealogical records of the Alston family in America, and to have them so arranged that the Ancestral. Lines can be easily traced, and the relationship marked out. In some lines family details are fully given, in others less so. I availed myself of all the reliable information that was obtainable. We would have been glad to have been able to insert more extended historical notes throughout the entire work, but such has been unobtainable, except from a few of the many prominent and well known mem bers. In a few families all records have been lost, and no trace of them can be found. While all families have not been fully traced, yet it is hoped that sufficient data have been given to enable such to connect and trace the relationship. Synopsis Unexplained South Carolina by : Sherman Carmichael
The Palmetto State is home to many strange and unexplained events. The Gray Man of 2018 is Pawleys Island's most historic ghost. He has been seen walking the beaches before hurricanes. The tiny town of Hilda hears the mournful wail of a ghost train. The Bowery, Myrtle Beach's most legendary bar, hosts the spectral singing of Barman Joe. A ninety-two-foot crop circle appeared in the small town of McBee in 1994. And there's a host of Bigfoot sightings in the state. Sherman Carmichael delves into the mysterious side of South Carolina.
