Synopsis Tables of Laguerre Polynomials and Functions by : V.S. Aizenshtadt
Tables of Laguerre Polynomials and Functions contains the values of Laguerre polynomials and Laguerre functions for n = 2 , 3 , . . . , 7 ; s = 0(0.1) 1; x = 0(0.1) 10(0.2) 30, and the zeroes and coefficients of the polynomials for n = 2 (1) 10 and s = 0(0.05) 1. The book also explains the Laguerre polynomials, their properties, Laguerre functions, and the tabulation of the Laguerre polynomials and functions. The book contains three tables: tables of values of Laguerre polynomials and functions, tables of the coefficients of the polynomials, and tables of their roots. The first table consists of six parts arranged successively in the ascending order of the degree n. Researchers have calculated the tables for a wider range of values of the parameters n, s and x (n = 2(1) 10, s = 0(0.05) 1, x = 0(0.1) 10(0.2) 30(0.5) 80) using computers at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Technology of the Byelorussian Academy of Sciences and the Computer Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the U.S.S.R. Scientists and investigators at computer centers, research institutes, and engineering organizations will find the book highly valuable.

Synopsis Table of Integrals, Series, and Products by : Daniel Zwillinger
The Table of Integrals, Series, and Products is the essential reference for integrals in the English language. Mathematicians, scientists, and engineers, rely on it when identifying and subsequently solving extremely complex problems. Since publication of the first English-language edition in 1965, it has been thoroughly revised and enlarged on a regular basis, with substantial additions and, where necessary, existing entries corrected or revised. The seventh edition includes a fully searchable CD-Rom.- Fully searchable CD that puts information at your fingertips included with text- Most up to date listing of integrals, series andproducts - Provides accuracy and efficiency in work

Synopsis Table of Integrals, Series, and Products by : I. S. Gradshteyn
Table of Integrals, Series, and Products provides information pertinent to the fundamental aspects of integrals, series, and products. This book provides a comprehensive table of integrals. Organized into 17 chapters, this book begins with an overview of elementary functions and discusses the power of binomials, the exponential function, the logarithm, the hyperbolic function, and the inverse trigonometric function. This text then presents some basic results on vector operators and coordinate systems that are likely to be useful during the formulation of many problems. Other chapters consider inequalities that range from basic algebraic and functional inequalities to integral inequalities and fundamental oscillation and comparison theorems for ordinary differential equations. This book discusses as well the important part played by integral transforms. The final chapter deals with Fourier and Laplace transforms that provides so much information about other integrals. This book is a valuable resource for mathematicians, engineers, scientists, and research workers.

Synopsis A Guide to Mathematical Tables by : N. M. Burunova
A Guide to Mathematical Tables is a supplement to the Guide to Mathematical Tables published by the U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences in 1956. The tables contain information on subjects such as powers, rational and algebraic functions, and trigonometric functions, as well as logarithms and polynomials and Legendre functions. An index listing all functions included in both the Guide and the Supplement is included. Comprised of 15 chapters, this supplement first describes mathematical tables in the following order: the accuracy of the table (that is, the number of decimal places or significant figures); the limits of variation of the argument and the interval of the table; and the serial number of the book or journal in the reference material. The second part gives the author, title, publishing house, and date and place of publication for books, and the name of the journal, year of publication, series, volume and number, page and author and title of the article cited for journals. Topics range from exponential and hyperbolic functions to factorials, Euler integrals, and related functions. Sums and quantities related to finite differences are also tabulated. This book will be of interest to mathematicians and mathematics students.

Synopsis Introduction to Finite and Infinite Series and Related Topics by : J. H. Heinbockel
An introduction to the analysis of finite series, infinite series, finite products and infinite products and continued fractions with applications to selected subject areas. Infinite series, infinite products and continued fractions occur in many different subject areas of pure and applied mathematics and have a long history associated with their development. The mathematics contained within these pages can be used as a reference book on series and related topics. The material can be used to augment the mathematices found in traditional college level mathematics course and by itself is suitable for a one semester special course for presentation to either upper level undergraduates or beginning level graduate students majoring in science, engineering, chemistry, physics, or mathematics. Archimedes used infinite series to find the area under a parabolic curve. The method of exhaustion is where one constructs a series of triangles between the arc of a parabola and a straight line. A summation of the areas of the triangles produces an infinite series representing the total area between the parabolic curve and the x-axis.
