Synopsis Souls Undressing by : Zoltan Pinter
In ancient times many teachings were written in the style called Sutra. The idea behind Sutra is if there is something you can say in six words – say it in five. The sixth word has to be found. They believed this was the only way in which you could understand life. In Souls Undressing I set out to find the ‘sixth word’ as both a therapist and as an individual. As I embark on this journey I will relive and revive some of the pivotal moments from my therapy cases through the lens of literature and my own life experience. Along the way I found unlearning becoming more important than learning. Undressing. Loosening the hold on old patterns, unbuttoning and perhaps even throwing them away. When souls meet other souls without their usual costumes. In these stories you may easily find yourself facing your own feelings, dilemmas and life situations. You may even come to meet yourself. And me. For writing about unbuttoning our souls, the therapist cannot remain dressed either.

Synopsis The Night Has a Naked Soul by : Alan Kilpatrick
In a work that spans nearly two centuries, anthropologist Alan Kilpatrick explores the occult world of the Western Cherokee, expounding on previously collected documents and translating some forty new shamanistic texts that have never been disclosed to outside audiences. For over a hundred and fifty years, the Cherokee Indians have been recording their medico-magical traditions in the native script of the Sequoyah syllabary. These texts, known as idi:gawe':sdi, deal with such esoteric matters as divining the future, protecting oneself from enemies, destroying the power of witches, and purifying one's soul from all forms of supernatural harm. As one of the few scholars able to translate the discourse, Kilpatrick underlines the critical role of transformational language in the ritual performance. His book challenges conventional wisdom about Native American folk medicine, witchcraft, and sorcery by introducing a new body of shamanistic thought and by placing this thought in the context of growing anthropological literature on indigenous folk beliefs.

Synopsis Souls of Wind by : John Olson
Fiction. SOULS OF WIND is a story of inner agitation, a quest for beatitude that plays out in the dynamics of the American West in 1880. French poet Arthur Rimbaud makes a detour to the United States whose emerging post-Civil War exhilarations and violence plunges him into a full immersion of frontier wildness, an odyssey of heart, heat and radical hunger with a paleontologist and his Nietzsche-infatuated daughter that brings him into contact with another restless and agitated soul: Billy the Kid.

Synopsis Soul Matters by : Sara Ahbel-Rappe
Platonic discourses concerning the soul are incredibly rich and multitiered. Plato's own diverse and disparate arguments and images offer competing accounts of how we are to understand the nature of the soul. Consequently, it should come as no surprise that the accounts of Platonists who engage Plato’s dialogues are often riddled with questions. This volume takes up the theories of well-known philosophers and theologians, including Plato, Plotinus, Proclus, the emperor Julian, and Origen, as well as lesser-known but equally important figures in a collection of essays on topics such as transmigration of the soul, the nature of the Platonist enlightenment experience, soul and gender, pagan ritual practices, Christian and pagan differences about the soul, mental health and illness, and many other topics. Contributors include Crystal Addey, Sara Ahbel-Rappe, Dirk Baltzly, Robert Berchman, Jay Bregman, Luc Brisson, Kevin Corrigan, John Dillon, John F. Finamore, Lloyd P. Gerson, Dorian Gieseler Greenbaum, Elizabeth Hill, Sarah Klitenic Wear, Danielle A. Layne, Ilaria L. E. Ramelli, Gregory Shaw, Svetla Slaveva-Griffine, Suzanne Stern-Gillet, Harold Tarrant, Van Tu, and John D. Turner.

Synopsis Words and Images that Seep into the Soul by : James Phillips Noble
Our lives move along with ups and downs, and we cope with them the best we can. But underneath there is a hunger for something more. There are times of stress such as when a loved one dies, a job is lost, a child is on a dangerous path, a difficult situation goes on and on. There are many other stressors that we all encounter. This book offers quotations from ancient and modern authors and poems and reflections that give a thought or image that seeps through the cracks that the stresses have made, and a deeper level is reached. There a new insight occurs, a new reality is discovered, or faith and hope are renewed. William Lancaster said: "Reading these poems . . . I feel planted, secure, that all is right with the world. I put my head down on the desk like a school kid and felt that the hand of God was on my shoulder. This God said, 'Bill, I am your God. You are my child, all of you.'" If you want a deeper and stronger faith in the God who loves you, this book can impact your life.
