Synopsis Skirmishes by : Neal B. Freeman
Skirmishes by Neal B. Freeman, a major figure in the conservative movement for the last 50 years, is the story of modern conservatism from Barry Goldwater to Donald Trump. Part collection, part memoir, part prescription for what ails the Republic, the book recounts Freeman's collaboration with William F. Buckley Jr. (Freeman managed WFB's city-shaking campaign for mayor of New York and was the founding producer of the long-running TV series, Firing Line), his service with four Presidents, including Ronald Reagan (Freeman produced much of Reagan's White House TV and was the architect of his centerpiece privatization initiative) and his work with other political and business luminaries up through the Trump era. Select writings from the National Review, Wall Street Journal, Weekly Standard and American Spectator flavor an extraordinary story of achievement in business, politics and the arts. Neal Freeman was not just present at the creation of modern conservatism. He was one of the indispensable creators. --- George Will For those familiar with his exceptional thinking on matters of liberty, country, faith and family, we have all benefited enormously from Neal's insights. In so many ways, he has shown us the way. --- Mark Levin Neal Freeman's writing, which I have celebrated for many years, is superb. --- William F. Buckley Jr.

Synopsis Battles and Skirmishes of the Great Sioux War, 1876-1877 by : Jerome A. Greene
This volume offers accounts of the many battles and skirmishes in the Great Sioux War as they were observed by participating officers, enlisted men, scouts, surgeons, and newspaper correspondents. The selections-some rendered immediately after the encounters and some set down in reminiscences years later - are important and little-known sources of information about the war. By their personal nature, they give a compelling sense of immediacy to the actions. The editor's introduction and commentary on each of the accounts help readers understand the interrelationship of events and appreciate the entire spectrum of the conflict.

Skirmishes and Struggles of the Dalton Family By: Amanda L. Dalton In research done for Skirmishes and Struggles of the Dalton Family, a lot of information was discovered not written in school history books. For example, in the Lewis and Clark Expedition, they went through the northern states. The only way they could have survived was with the help of the Native Americans there. The book begins when Henry De Beaumont, the author’s 25th great-grandfather, fought in the Battle of Hastings with William the Conqueror. William endowed to be the first Earl of Warwick Castle. The Daltons came from Ireland and fought in this same battle. They were given land in England and inter-married with the Beaumonts. Eventually, the families migrated to America. The families had a mixture of outlaws and ministers. The author’s great-grandfather was hung for stealing a horse. She also recalls hearing of the notorious Dalton Gang from her aunts, cousins, and uncles when they would come to visit, but at the time was unaware of the outlaw gang until years later, reading about them in history books.

Synopsis One-hour Skirmish Wargames by : John Lambshead
Many wargamers enjoy the challenge of skirmish games where, instead of the strategy of vast armies portrayed by traditional wargames, the focus is on the tactics of a small unit. However, skirmish rules are often so complex that it can take hours of rolling dice, consulting tables and recording data to recreate what would in reality be a fast and furious firefight lasting just minutes. Now these new rules make it possible to recapture the speed and intensity of these actions where every man, and every second, counts. The basic rules are supported by sections which give special rules and scenarios to capture the flavor of a range of different periods, from Napoleonic to Modern Warfare and beyond with Sci-Fi. From the 95th Rifles scouting for Wellington, Western gunfights and WWI trench raids, through WW2 parachute assaults or Special Forces strikes in Afghanistan, or even Space Marines storming a space station, Squad Firefights elegantly simple system allows you to focus on proper tactical decisions rather than rolling buckets of dice or calculating masses of modifiers.
