Synopsis Sit Down, Shut Up, You're Gonna Win This Thing by : Dave Greenberg
Stumbling back to his corner after barely surviving a round's worth of punishment and submission attempts from a hard-hitting opponent, Dave "Meanberg" Greenberg hears his MMA coach bellow unexpected words: "Sit down! Shut up! You're gonna win this thing!"These words echo far beyond Dave's first amateur cage fight to become a recurring theme in his challenging life. Little did he know then, but this would just be the start of fighting for his life and coming out on top. He learns that his determination and grit can overpower not only opponents in the cage, but also life-threatening car accidents, injuries that compromise his dream of fighting again, and losses that penetrate deeper than his physical wounds. What starts out as a glimpse into the life of an MMA fighter transforms into a journey of growing up and finding oneself by confronting adversity. Dave's story reminds us that we are far more capable than we give ourselves credit for.

Synopsis Going Underground by : Susan Vaught
Del is a good kid who's been caught in horrible circumstances. When we meet him, he is 17, trying to put his life together after an incident in his past that made him a social outcast - and a felon. As a result, he can't get into college; the only job he can get is digging graves; and when he finally meets a girl he might fall in love with, there's a whole sea of complications that threaten to bring the world crashing down around him again. But what has Del done? In flashbacks to Del's 14th year, we slowly learn the truth: his girlfriend texted him a revealing photo of herself, a teacher confiscated his phone, and soon the police were involved. Basing her story on real-life cases of teens being charged with sex crimes for texting explicit photos, Susan Vaught has created a moving portrait of an immensely likable young character caught up in a highly controversial legal scenario.

Synopsis The Protectors Trilogy: Book Two by : Arial Alexis
When we looked up, we saw the invisible force that held the explosion in by the definite lines that the turbulent waves of power and light were crashing against, undulating inside of its shape in slow motion, stalled by the force keeping them from expanding outwards. It seemed to float, held motionless against the backdrop of the wreckage around it. Red streaks marred the perpetual flashes of light, rising and falling when they found no crevice to break through. Then, without allowing more than a few seconds to pass from its beginning to the instant we had seen it and recognized its stillness, the walls shrunk inwards, closing in on itself until there was nothing but ash falling from where a marble of light had last hovered four feet above the ground. Shift had come back somewhere in the middle of the minute's long happening, his expression summing up what mine failed to show. "You..." He turned to Shadow, his doubt slowing down what would have been an instant jump to her side. She vacantly shook her head.

Synopsis Crossing Game by : D.L. Narrol
Book 5 of Colin Limmerick's adventures The fifth book of D.L. Narrol's time travel series has the same steampunk 1912 time-travelers venture again via Dr. Dimitrikov's time machine. They've somehow adopted a misplaced cave lion, an ill-behaved Neanderthal and Olga, the assistant commander of the KGB from their future; The Soviet Union (1970). Captain Limmerick, tries to have his new companions assisted back to their time periods, but not all goes as planned. Dr. Dimitrikov discovered nuclear fuel when they had previously traveled to the U.S.S.R, in previous book Arctic Quest, but is inept on how to use it. They land in 1992, to discover the KGB has been over-run with corrupt pseudo-capitalism. The time machine's control panel is, by mistake, tampered with by the hostile Neanderthal, which leads the time travelers to Johannesburg, South Africa (1900), during the Anglo-Boer War. Captain Limmerick evaded this war twelve years prior, in his own time period; but, is compelled to involve himself because of his religious beliefs and his love and admiration for a victimized Zulu woman. Limmerick's distaste for war comes into play, where he changes history forever.
