Synopsis Sherlock Holmes and the Terrible Secret by : Fred Thursfield
It is the start of the First World War. Sherlock Holmes is coaxed out of a short lived retirement to track down an exotic dancer to retrieve a dangerous secret accidentally given to her by a young patent clerk before it falls into the hands of a hostile government. As much a detective story as a brief history of the causes, reasons and the long term futility of a long forgotten war.

Kron, navigated a dangerous web of secret boyfriends, two-faced cops, underground tunnels, rumors of white slavery, and a mysterious pale man, in a desperate race against time. Brad Ricca's Mrs. Sherlock Holmes is the first-ever narrative biography of this singular woman the press nicknamed after fiction's greatest detective. Synopsis The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier by : Arthur Conan Doyle
James Dodd comes to Sherlock Holmes about the whereabouts of his friend Godfrey Emsworth. The two men fought in the Second Boer War together, where Ensworth was wounded. Dodd has not heard from his friend since then and believes something is very wrong. He has contacted Emsworth’s father, Colonel Ensworth, but the later tells him his son has gone off at sea. Not satisfied by this response Dodd went off to visit the colonel and his wife, who he found to be less than welcoming. Questioning the butler only made Dodd even less at ease and he hopes that Holmes will be able to track Emsworth down. "The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier" (1926) is part of "The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes". Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was born in Scotland and studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh. After his studies, he worked as a ship’s surgeon on various boats. During the Second Boer War, he was an army doctor in South Africa. When he came back to the United Kingdom, he opened his own practice and started writing crime books. He is best known for his thrilling stories about the adventures of Sherlock Holmes. He published four novels and more than 50 short-stories starring the detective and Dr Watson, and they play an important role in the history of crime fiction. Other than the Sherlock Holmes series, Doyle wrote around thirty more books, in genres such as science-fiction, fantasy, historical novels, but also poetry, plays, and non-fiction.

Synopsis Sherlock Holmes and the Miskatonic Monstrosities by : James Lovegrove
It is the spring of 1895, and more than a decade of combating eldritch entities has cost Dr John Watson his beloved wife Mary, and nearly broken the health of Sherlock Holmes. Yet the companions do not hesitate when they are called to the infamous Bedlam lunatic asylum, where they find an inmate speaking in R’lyehian, the language of the Old Ones. Moreover, the man is horribly scarred and has no memory of who he is. The detectives discover that the inmate was once a scientist, a student of Miskatonic University, and one of two survivors of a doomed voyage down the Miskatonic River to capture the semi-mythical shoggoth. Yet how has he ended up in London, without his wits? And when the man is taken from Bedlam by forces beyond normal mortal comprehension, it becomes clear that there is far more to the case than one disturbed Bostonian. It is only by learning what truly happened on that fateful New England voyage that Holmes and Watson will uncover the truth, and learn who is behind the Miskatonic monstrosity…
