Synopsis Self-inquiry quotes. by : P.V.S. SURYANARAYANA RAJU
These quotes in self-inquiry are very useful for any serious truth seeker irrespective of his background, conditioning, belief, faith, religion to which he belongs.self-inquiry is a scientific inquiry into the working of self, usually called the ego the ego,its thoughts, feelings etc.self-inquiry is beyond all religions in which there is no seeking,no becoming,no end to be gained. In the silent observation of self-inquiry in which there no choice or condemnation thought and feeling unfold themselves. In this process we actualize the potential of the Self (Atman). In self-inquiry we understand ourselves, our impulses, reactions, the whole process of thinking, conscious as well as unconscious/Depending on somebody to tell what is in our mind prevents understanding of oneself.Usually we take some shelter under an authority,be it a guru, scripture, method, which gives temporary sense of security, but that is not understanding of total process of oneself.Unless we uncover all the layers of mind self-inquiry is incomplete.

Synopsis Self Enquiry by : Sri Ramana Maharshi
The present work in prose consists of forty questions with answers covering the entire range of spiritual disciplines required for the gaining of release (moksha). The questioner was Gambhiram Seshayya, one of the early devotees of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. He was a Municipal Overseer at Tiruvannamalai about 1900. Besides being an ardent Ramabhakta (worshipper of Rama) he was interested in the study and practice of Yoga. He used to read Swami Vivekananda's lectures on the different yoga's as also an English translation of the Rama-gita. For resolving the difficulties which he came across while studying these books and in his spiritual practices, he approached Bhagavan Sri Ramana from time to time. Bhagavan, who was only twenty-one years old, was then living in Virupaksha cave on Arunachala Hill. As he was keeping silent at the time not because of any vow taken but because he was not inclined to talk - he wrote out his answers to Seshayya's questions on bits of paper. These writings over the period 1900-1902 were later copied in a note-book by Seshayya. The material thus gathered was published by Sri Ramanasramam under the little Vichara-sangraham which literally means 'A Compendium of Self-Enquiry.' A digest of the teaching contained in this work was later printed in English bearing the title 'Self-Enquiry'. In that English version, the questions were omitted and the substance of Bhagavan's teaching was given, classifying it in twelve short chapters with appropriate headings. The present English translation is of the entire original text Vichara-sangraham as it is in Tamil. The Vicharasangraham has unique value in the sense that it constitutes the first set of instructions given by Bhagavan in his own handwriting.

The profound, lighthearted wisdom embodied within is not theoretical; it is absolutely authentic. Katie is a living example of the clear, all-embracing love that is our true identity. Because she has thoroughly questioned her own mind, her words shine with the joy of understanding. “People used to ask me if I was enlightened,” she says, “and I would say, ‘I don’t know anything about that. I’m just someone who knows the difference between what hurts and what doesn’t.’ I’m someone who wants only what is. To meet as a friend each concept that arose turned out to be my freedom.

Synopsis Mindful Self-Discipline by : Giovanni Dienstmann
If you want to live a life of purpose, build good habits and achieve your goals, there is one skill that is more important than anything else: Self-Discipline. Self-discipline is not about punishment, it’s about self-respect. It is not about being inflexible, but about living your best life. It is the superpower of focus in a world of distractions — allowing you to overcome procrastination, excuses, bad habits, low motivation, failures, and self-doubt. With it, you can stay on track with your values and goals even through the times when you are least inspired. Self-discipline allows you to choose who you want to be and live by design rather than by default. As a meditation teacher and self-discipline coach, Giovanni Dienstmann has helped hedge fund managers, CEOs, entrepreneurs, ambitious professionals, artists and pro athletes to live a more focused and disciplined life. Since 2014 he has been successfully coaching people to overcome distractions, procrastination, self-doubt, fear, and other forms of self-sabotage. Whatever self-discipline challenge you face, whatever excuse you are telling yourself — Mindful Self-Discipline is a collection of all these years of experience, converted into a tool for you to use. This revolutionary book is a comprehensive and practical guide for you to develop self-discipline in a balanced way — without beating yourself up. It emphasizes the use of mindfulness and awareness as key components for building habits, rather than forcefulness and willpower. If you have tried other methodologies and failed, then this is for you. This manual for living your life purposefully contains: — Over 50 step-by-step exercises — Over 100 illustrations and diagrams — Links to the scientific studies about each topic Many, many examples — all to make it as easy as possible for you to actually apply all this knowledge and transform your daily life. Synopsis A/r/tography by : Rita L. Irwin
"Twelve contributors explore the relationships between and among the three roles of artist, researcher, and teacher as they implement arts-based educational research. Each contributor uses her or his own artistic practices as integral ot complementary practices to other forms of inquiry. In each case, the artist-author examines an educational issue and through visual and textual means, pursues theoretical and practical considerations. Each artist-author engages with theory and practice, art and text, self and other, artist and teacher. In many respects, two points of view are explored: art as phenomenon and art-making as method. Using these points separately or together, the artist-authors explore the fullness of such inquiry for educational research. Through an examination of these art-based texts, readers will come to appreciate educational practices in deeper and more meaningful ways."--publisher.
