Synopsis Security and Data Reliability in Cooperative Wireless Networks by : Emad Hassan

Following a detailed overview of cooperative communications and the physical layer security, this book proposes relay and jammer selection schemes for security in one-way cooperative networks and to improve physical layer security in two-way cooperative networks. It also proposes a Cooperative Hybrid Self-Healing scheme to enhance the confidentiality of the data collected by UWSN. It ends with a proposal called Self-Healing Cluster Controlled Mobility (SH-CCM) scheme based on hybrid cooperation between both Proactive and Reactive peers and the sick sensors at both network and cluster levels to guarantee the security in UWSN.

Synopsis Engineering and Technology for Healthcare by : Muhammad Ali Imran

Innovation in healthcare is currently a “hot” topic. Innovation allows us to think differently, to take risks and to develop ideas that are far better than existing solutions. Currently, there is no single book that covers all topics related to microelectronics, sensors, data, system integration and healthcare technology assessment in one reference. This book aims to critically evaluate current state-of-the-art technologies and provide readers with insights into developing new solutions. With contributions from a fully international team of experts across electrical engineering and biomedical fields, the book discusses how advances in sensing technology, computer science, communications systems and proteomics/genomics are influencing healthcare technology today.

Synopsis Internet of Things and M2M Communications by : Fabrice Theoleyr

The Internet of Things is the emerging technology which interconnects smart objects using wireless communications. After having been extensively studied in academic labs, the Internet of Things is now widely applied in the industrial world (e.g. domestic automation, smart metering, smart cities). Internet of Things and M2M Communications presents the key concepts used in the Internet of Things. In particular, Machine to Machine (M2M) communications have to be energy efficient so that all the smart objects may operate for years on a single battery. Besides, whilst constructing an efficient global digital world combining personal/private and external/general data, security and privacy issues have also to be covered adequately. Contents: Part I. Energy Constrained IoT Effect of Data Aggregation in M2M Networks OR-AHad: An Opportunistic Routing Algorithm for Energy Harvesting WSN An Off-line Tool for Accurately Estimating the Lifetime of a Wireless Mote Part II. Transmission Scheduling Delay-Constrained Scheduling in Wireless Sensor Networks Distributed Scheduling for Cooperative Tracking in Hierarchical Wireless Sensor Networks Time Synchronization on Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks: A Bio-Inspired Approach Part III.
