Synopsis Search for New Physics in Lepton + Photon + X Events with 929 Pb**( -1) of P Anti-p Collisions at S**ư by :
The authors present results of a search at CDF in 929 ± 56 pb−1 of p{bar p} collisions at 1.96 TeV for the anomalous production of events containing a high-transverse momentum charged lepton (l, either e or?) and photon , accompanied by missing transverse energy (E{sub T}), and/or additional leptons and photons, and jets (X). They use the same selection criteria as in a previous CDF Run I search, but with an order-magnitude larger data set, a higher p{bar p} collisions energy, and the CDF II detector. They find 163 l?E{sub T} + X events, compared to an expectation of 150.6 ± 13.0 events. They observe 74 ll? + X events, compared to an expectation of 65.1 ± 7.7 events. They find no events similar to the Run II ee??E{sub T} event.

Synopsis Search for New Physics in Lepton + Photon + X Events with 929 Pb**-1 of P Anti-p Collisions at S**(1/2) by : A. Loginov
The authors present results of a search in 929 {+-} 56 pb{sup -1} of p{bar p} collisions at 1.96 TeV for the anomalous production of events containing a charged lepton ({ell}, either e or {mu}) and a photon ({gamma}), both with high transverse momentum, accompanied by additional signatures, X, including missing transverse energy (E{sub T}) and additional leptons and photons. They use the same selection criteria as in the previous CDF Run I search, but with an order-magnitude larger data set, a higher p{bar p} collision energy, and the CDF II detector.

Synopsis The Anomalous Magnetic Moment of the Muon by : Fred Jegerlehner
This book reviews the present state of knowledge of the anomalous magnetic moment a=(g-2)/2 of the muon. The muon anomalous magnetic moment is one of the most precisely measured quantities in elementary particle physics and provides one of the most stringent tests of relativistic quantum field theory as a fundamental theoretical framework. It allows for an extremely precise check of the standard model of elementary particles and of its limitations.

Synopsis Top Quark Physics at Hadron Colliders by : Arnulf Quadt
This will be a required acquisition text for academic libraries. More than ten years after its discovery, still relatively little is known about the top quark, the heaviest known elementary particle. This extensive survey summarizes and reviews top-quark physics based on the precision measurements at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, as well as examining in detail the sensitivity of these experiments to new physics. Finally, the author provides an overview of top quark physics at the Large Hadron Collider.

Synopsis Physics and Astrophysics of Neutrinos by : Masataka Fukugita
Observations of neutrinos being emitted by the supernova SN1987A, star neutrinos, and atmospheric neutrinos have provided new insights into astronomy, as well as new unresolved phenomena such as the solar neutrino problem, spurring investigative studies among particle physicists and astrophysicists. One of the most important features of this book is its enumeration of a number of basic properties of neutrinos and their relationship to Grand Unified Theories, focusing on the origin of the neutrino's mass and the generation mixing of neutrinos. All the kamiokande results, detector performances, and complete references are included.

Synopsis Advances in Jet Substructure at the LHC by : Roman Kogler
This book introduces the reader to the field of jet substructure, starting from the basic considerations for capturing decays of boosted particles in individual jets, to explaining state-of-the-art techniques. Jet substructure methods have become ubiquitous in data analyses at the LHC, with diverse applications stemming from the abundance of jets in proton-proton collisions, the presence of pileup and multiple interactions, and the need to reconstruct and identify decays of highly-Lorentz boosted particles. The last decade has seen a vast increase in our knowledge of all aspects of the field, with a proliferation of new jet substructure algorithms, calculations and measurements which are presented in this book. Recent developments and algorithms are described and put into the larger experimental context. Their usefulness and application are shown in many demonstrative examples and the phenomenological and experimental effects influencing their performance are discussed. A comprehensive overview is given of measurements and searches for new phenomena performed by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations. This book shows the impressive versatility of jet substructure methods at the LHC.
