The seminar was conducted to highlight the vital role of GRAPH THEORY & COMBINATORICS: • in developing mathematical theories for technological advancement and industrial innovation. • to bridge the gap between academia and industry. • to provide a platform for sharing the knowledge of the experts in the field among young students and researchers.

This volume presents some of the research topics discussed at the 2014-2015 Annual Thematic Program Discrete Structures: Analysis and Applications at the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications during Fall 2014, when combinatorics was the focus. Leading experts have written surveys of research problems, making state of the art results more conveniently and widely available. The three-part structure of the volume reflects the three workshops held during Fall 2014. In the first part, topics on extremal and probabilistic combinatorics are presented; part two focuses on additive and analytic combinatorics; and part three presents topics in geometric and enumerative combinatorics. This book will be of use to those who research combinatorics directly or apply combinatorial methods to other fields.

The Workshop for Women in Graph Theory and Applications was held at the Institute for Mathematics and Its Applications (University of Minnesota, Minneapolis) on August 19-23, 2019. During this five-day workshop, 42 participants performed collaborative research, in six teams, each focused on open problems in different areas of graph theory and its applications. The research work of each team was led by two experts in the corresponding area, who prior to the workshop, carefully selected relevant and meaningful open problems that would yield high-quality research and results of strong impact. As a result, all six teams have made significant contributions to several open problems in their respective areas. The workshop led to the creation of the Women in Graph Theory and Applications Research Collaboration Network, which provided the framework to continue collaborating and to produce this volume. This book contains six chapters, each of them on one of the different areas of research at the Workshop for Women in Graph Theory and Applications, and written by participants of each team.

Graph Theory, Combinatorics and Algorithms: Interdisciplinary Applications focuses on discrete mathematics and combinatorial algorithms interacting with real world problems in computer science, operations research, applied mathematics and engineering. The book contains eleven chapters written by experts in their respective fields, and covers a wide spectrum of high-interest problems across these discipline domains. Among the contributing authors are Richard Karp of UC Berkeley and Robert Tarjan of Princeton; both are at the pinnacle of research scholarship in Graph Theory and Combinatorics. The chapters from the contributing authors focus on "real world" applications, all of which will be of considerable interest across the areas of Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, and Engineering. These problems include Internet congestion control, high-speed communication networks, multi-object auctions, resource allocation, software testing, data structures, etc. In sum, this is a book focused on major, contemporary problems, written by the top research scholars in the field, using cutting-edge mathematical and computational techniques.

These notes were first used in an introductory course team taught by the authors at Appalachian State University to advanced undergraduates and beginning graduates. The text was written with four pedagogical goals in mind: offer a variety of topics in one course, get to the main themes and tools as efficiently as possible, show the relationships between the different topics, and include recent results to convince students that mathematics is a living discipline.

These are the proceedings of the first graph theory conference held in New York City, on June 11-13, 1970, sponsored by St. John's University, Jamaica, New York. In spirit and scope it followed the graph theory conferences recently held in Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo: the contributors and participants were persons from Canada and the United States who are interested and very active in graph theory and its applications.

This book collects the extended abstracts of the accepted contributions to EuroComb21. A similar book is published at every edition of EuroComb (every two years since 2001) collecting the most recent advances in combinatorics, graph theory, and related areas. It has a wide audience in the areas, and the papers are used and referenced broadly.

Graph Theory is a part of discrete mathematics characterized by the fact of an extremely rapid development during the last 10 years. The number of graph theoretical paper as well as the number of graph theorists increase very strongly. The main purpose of this book is to show the reader the variety of graph theoretical methods and the relation to combinatorics and to give him a survey on a lot of new results, special methods, and interesting informations. This book, which grew out of contributions given by about 130 authors in honour to the 70th birthday of Gerhard Ringel, one of the pioneers in graph theory, is meant to serve as a source of open problems, reference and guide to the extensive literature and as stimulant to further research on graph theory and combinatorics.
