Synopsis Quality Management for the Technology Sector by : Joseph Berk
There are many standards, methods and perhaps most confusing, but most importantly of all acronyms in use in the field of quality management, and especially so in the field of technology-based products. From the seemingly simple concepts of ISO 9000 (and the military MIL standards from which that grew) to statistical and analytical methods like Statistical Process Control (SPC) the range of complexity and compliance is staggering. What the average quality engineer or manager needs is a simple guide to what these are, how they relate to one another and most critically how to take advantage of and implement the benefits of each. This book provides that guidance. Written by a quality consultant with over 20 years experience in precisely these fields, including work with the US Defense Department, Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, Raytheon, and many other leading companies, this book provides an easily digestible toolbox of solutions to quality and management problems for every engineer, manager and even student looking for those answers for the medium to high-technology sector manufacturing company. This is a highly practical book which includes all the major topics in quality as well as case studies from relevant real-world situations yet without the need to wade through reams of reference materials and international standards verbiage. If you need to get to the bottom of problems like these, you need this book.Targetted at the Technology company engineer and quality managerHighly illustrated, comprehensive subject coveragePractical examples and case studies used throughout

Synopsis Quality Management Systems by : Ray Tricker
This book provides a clear, easy to digest overview of Quality Management Systems (QMS). Critically, it offers the reader an explanation of the International Standards Organization’s (ISO) requirement that in future all new and existing Management Systems Standards will need to have the same high-level structure, commonly referred to as Annex SL, with identical core text, as well as common terms and definitions. In addition to explaining what Annex SL entails, this book provides the reader with a guide to the principles, requirements and interoperability of Quality Management System standards, how to complete internal and external management reviews, third-party audits and evaluations, as well as how to become an ISO Certified Organisation once your QMS is fully established. As a simple and straightforward explanation of QMS Standards and their current requirements, this is a perfect guide for practitioners who need a comprehensive overview to put theory into practice, as well as for undergraduate and postgraduate students studying quality management as part of broader Operations and Management courses.

Synopsis Achieving Customer Experience Excellence through a Quality Management System by : Alka Jarvis
We are in what many call The Age of the Customer. Customers are empowered more than ever before and demand a high level of customer attention and service. Their increasing expectations and demands worldwide have forced organizations to transform themselves and prepare for the customer experience (CX) battlefield. This landmark book addresses: What customer experience really means Why it matters Whether it has any substantial business impact What your organization can do to deliver and sustain your CX efforts, and How we got to this particular point in CX history This book is the result of exhaustive research conducted to incorporate various components that affect customer experience. Based on the research results, the authors make a case for seeing CX and associated transformations as the next natural evolution of the quality management system (QMS) already in place in most companies. Using an existing QMS as the foundation for CX not only creates a more sustainable platform, but it allows for a faster and more cost effective way to enable an organization to attain world-class CX.

Synopsis IT Quality Index by : Zdenek Kvapil
Over a long period of time we were receiving demand from different customers and stakeholders requesting our help with analyzing actual levels of IT management practices in their companies and to provide an external, objective look at IT, compare it with other organizations and develop a management summary of our overall findings. While this seems like a straight forward request and is covered by many consulting service providers, we struggled to develop answers to some very simple questions which are crucial to the different management levels from CEO level to IT professionals delivering operational support to the end user. Key questions we were requested to answer: _ How good is our IT? _ How is the quality of our IT evolving? _ How do we compare with other IT departments in similar organizations? _ How do we align the perception of quality between the business and IT? _ Can you compare the quality and costs of our IT? There are many existing assessment approaches based on ISO/IEC, capability models, maturity models, structured surveys as well as there being many different benchmarking approaches that provide detailed analytical outputs. These are typically focused and targeted internally, providing largely internal benefits to a company’s IT organization, looking mostly at the presence of documentation and processes, but none of them providing a comprehensive and straight forward answer to address the simple yet fundamental question asked by management – HOW GOOD IS OUR IT? We believe that a simple question should have a simple answer.
