Allen, Jr. gives a raw look at what could have been compared to where he is now. Synopsis Purpose of Man by : T.G. Wolfe
T.G. Wolfe guides the reader from the flawed theories of human origins to the real purpose of our existence through a well-reasoned, scriptural, and fact-filled argument that’s difficult to refute. He explains why the Bible is trustworthy and what it reveals about the end of days, outlining the consequences for those who make the wrong choice and the rewards for those who choose correctly. Additionally, he provides enough scriptural evidence that foretells the time of the Lord’s return establishing the Millennial Reign. Wolfe also includes scriptural evidence of what awaits those who put their faith in Jesus Christ that far exceeds anything Hollywood could ever imagine.

A Marriage at Cross Purposes Professor Martin Quint has moved from a major university to a small college. He has an important book to write. But he is pressured by the college to help develop a new school of engineering and entrepreneurship and pushed by a visiting professor from Oxford University to completely redesign his teaching mode. Meanwhile, his wife’s new business draws her away from child care. Conflicts over time and money erupt just when a shocking revelation from Martin’s past threatens to careen everything out of control. Cross Purposes provides an eye-opening look at the realities of academic life, but at its heart, it’s about a marriage at cross purposes, about trust and betrayal, anger and forgiveness.

Synopsis My Father's Gift: How One Man's Purpose Became a Journey of Hope and Healing by : Sixtus Z. Atabong
Born into a poor West African family in the disease-stricken town of Fontem, John N. Atabong embarked into the unknown in search of hope. He was eleven, but he triumphed against all odds to give his children the best care and education available. Eventually, he sacrificed his most valuable possession, his son Sixtus, sending him to study in the United States with nothing more than lessons learned from his days working the farms and his father's basic biblical teachings. Sixtus Atabong's journey of temptations and challenges in the US gives rise to a mission: to give back. He uses his gift to extend God's healing hands and unfailing love to the far corners of the earth through sustainable health care infrastructures. Fulfilling his father's dream, Sixtus hopes that he too can leave the world a better place than he found it.

Synopsis Man on Purpose by : David Johnson
When the first man Adam heard the voice of God walking through the Garden of Eden, he hid himself. The Bible says that he hid himself because he was naked. To uncover a good application, let's examine the word naked. May I suggest that he hid himself because he was unprepared, misinformed, or simply not ready? He was perhaps (as are many men today) not in place nor proper form. He was not dressed. He was not adorned with a sense of power or purpose. He had no strength or motivation! Perhaps he was in a position of authority, but powerless to perform the expectations and duties of the position he held. He was supposed to make things better, but he made a mess of almost everything he touched, because he did not understand his purpose! He did not understand his relationship to what he touched, nor did he understand himself. Adam hid himself then, as many men hid themselves today. Adam was not functioning according to his created purpose. What was his created purpose and why did he cover himself with fig leaves? I will answer the question of his created purpose directly in chapter 3 of this book. For now, let's talk about the fig leaves. Today's man covers himself with fig leaves called crime; theft, murder, rape, and domestic violence to name a few. They end up incarcerated, imprisoned, and extricated from the place of purpose! Today's man hides from child support or they hide themselves from the child and family altogether! Some become career criminals, effectively wasting their lives away. All too often, men seem to seek and discover ways to be absent. When he does not fix the problem, the problem fixes him. What he will not control begins to control him. What he refuses to master now masters him, and thus begins the societal reality and the sad plight of fatherless young men. Women are left alone to rear and train and to raise them! God asked the question, "Adam, where art thou?" So with the same intention of calling men out of obscurity and into accountability and presence, I now also ask, "Men, where are you?"

Synopsis The Men We Need by : Brant Hansen
The world needs real men, real bad. And there are all sorts of conflicting ideas and messages about what a "real man" is (and is not). Is a real man one who hunts, loves sports, grills meat, fixes cars, and climbs mountains? Sure, sometimes. But that's not really the point of being a man and it's not the purpose for which men were made. Into our cultural confusion, Brant Hansen paints a refreshingly specific, compelling picture of what men are made to be: "Keepers of the Garden." Protectors and defenders. He calls for men of all interests and backgrounds (including "avid indoorsmen" like himself) to be ambitious about the right things and to see themselves as defenders of the vulnerable, with whatever resources they have. Using short chapters loaded with must-have wisdom and Brant's signature humor, The Men We Need explains the essence of masculinity in a fresh, thoughtful, and entertaining way that will inspire any man who dares to read it.
