Synopsis Nebula by : L. A. Sees

I don't know where I came from. I don't know where I'm going. What I do know is where I'd like to be-safe within my mother's embrace. One girl's search for truth may alter an entire universe in the spellbinding new science fiction novel, Nebula. Written by L.A. Sees, this young adult adventure proves the importance of being yourself no matter what galaxy you're in. Ree Lindbergh's dream since she was a little girl is a simple one: to one day travel to Earth. Instead, she's stuck aboard the Omega Centauri, a spacecraft used to patrol the borders of the Milky Way. Having spent her entire seventeen-year existence on board, Ree is a bit restless. But her mission is important: help keep Earth's newly discovered alien species, the Bufoanthroid, under control. By day, Ree enjoys spending time with her best friend, Zac Walker. But when night falls, she is continually tormented by memories of her mother, killed by a Bufoanthroid the day Ree was born. Her world is turned upside down once again when Zac's ship disappears. Determined to rescue him, Ree embarks on a frantic mission to save him. As events unravel and secrets are revealed, Ree soon realizes that achieving her dreams will mean facing the truth behind her nightmares.

Synopsis Chronicles of Nebula's Veil by : Gurpreet SIngh

In the aftermath of the cosmic conflict, the Pulsar Ascendant sailed through the rejuvenated Nebula's Veil, leaving the echoes of their odyssey behind. The crew, bathed in the celestial glow of harmony, felt a profound sense of fulfillment as they traversed the galactic frontier. The journey that began as a routine mission had transformed into a cosmic symphony, with each member contributing a unique melody to the tapestry of the universe. Seraphina, now a beacon of cosmic wisdom, stood on the bridge, gazing into the ethereal expanse. Her leadership, tested and refined through the challenges of the Nebula's Veil, had forged a resilient crew capable of navigating the cosmic currents. The Prism of Realities, once a source of uncertainty, now glowed with a tranquil radiance, symbolizing the u

Synopsis Messier's Nebulae and Star Clusters by : Kenneth Glyn Jones

Charles Messier's catalog of nebulae and star clusters, published in 1784, marked the start of a new era of deep-sky astronomy. Today, this tradition of observing galaxies and clusters is kept alive by dedicated amateur astronomers. Nearly all the objects are visible in a small telescope, and many, such as the Crab Nebula and the Andromeda galaxy, are among the most fascinating objects in the universe. Kenneth Glyn Jones has revised his definitive version of Messier's catalog. His own observations and drawings, together with maps and diagrams, make this a valuable introduction to deep-sky observing. Historical and astrophysical notes bring the science of these nebulae right up to date. This is a unique handbook, unlikely ever to be equaled in its completeness and importance to the telescope owner.

Synopsis Planets, Stars and Nebulae Studied with Photopolarimetry by : Tom Gehrels

“The polarization study of celestial objects is a valuable part of optical astronomy, and the author has done exceptionally well in bringing together contributions treating all aspects of the polarimetry field. . . . The first section contains a fine introduction and an excellent and definitive history of the subject. . . . The volume is well illustrated. . . . Highly recommended.”—Choice “The high quality of this book is clearly due to strict editorial attention to each paper and the discussions. Gehrels’s book will surely stand for many years as the fundamental reference source for polarization studies in astronomy as well as in atmospheric physics.”—Journal of the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers

Synopsis Planetary Nebulae by : G.A. Gurzadyan

The publication in English of this monograph seems to me to indicate the ever increasing interest of astrophysicists in the physical and dynamical problems of planetary nebulae-one of the most interesting and fruitful branches of theoretical astrophysics. Their interest in part arises from the fact that the methods of identify ing the physical processes occurring in planetary nebulae, as well as the many theo retical results, are now acquiring a degree of uni versality as their sphere of application increases. Finally, the special cosmic significance of planetary nebulae is becoming apparent. The English edition of Planetary Nebulae differs considerably from the Russian version published in 1962, primarily because of the new results included in it, but also because of numerous editorial revisions. The problems of magnetic fields and hydrodynamics in planetary nebulae are beginning to occupy an important place in the study of the dynamics of these objects. Recent studies by D. H. Menzel confirm the idea advanced in the present mono graph as to the existence of magnetic fields in planetary nebulae. New light is being cast on the dynamics of planetary nebulae by the hydrodynamic investigations of F. D. Kahn, W. G. Mathews and others. Unfortunately I was not able to include these and other interesting results in the present edition.
