Synopsis My Life of High Adventure by : Leonard Restall PhD
Contains a series of adventures eventually culminating with my final one of gaining PhD. The book covers my life in two countries, served in two Air Forces, Gained qualifications from three Universities in three different countries. With each adventure there is a challenge, the bigger the adventure, the bigger the challenge. It covers my life from birth, my job selections, my Air Force and Sporting careers and my educational experiences at University and school teaching. It not only shows the challenges I had but also the many successes. It could serve as an example of a person leaving school at the age of 14 without any qualification because of a disrupted schooling during the War in London but was all able to still embark on personal adventures to overcome any problems of the past and gain much success. It is rather like a traditional story with the hero after much struggling wins the prize and the fair maiden and lives happily ever after. This is what my life is like and my book tries to convey the struggles for success but coming out on top . Any one reading my ‘What’s Next’ book could also find this one very helpful in showing what can be done from a low start.

This was how to chose to live his LIFE OF HIGH ADVENTURE... “Exciting, vivid...an excellent account.”—Hal Borland, New York Times

Synopsis High Adventure by : Donald E. Westlake
One man’s quest to make history—and a lot of money: “High entertainment” from the three-time Edgar Award–winning Grand Master of Mystery (Elmore Leonard). Kirby Galway may be a low-level marijuana smuggler in Belize, but the man has a dream—to make lots and lots of money. So when a local official offers him a back-jungle tract of land he swears would make a perfect cattle ranch, Kirby jumps at the opportunity. Unfortunately, he lands himself in a swamp—that he now owns. Kirby begins selling homemade “artifacts” from his property to American museums and witless tourists, even building a fake ancient temple and recruiting a tribe of Mayan Indians who know a good scam when they see one. But his cash-cow paradise soon attracts the attention of two snooping New York reporters, a beautiful archaeologist from UCLA, and a troop of Guatemalan guerillas just itching to shoot somebody. Kirby is going to have to talk fast, move faster, and pull out every dirty trick he knows if he’s going to get out of this alive . . . “I thoroughly enjoyed High Adventure.” —Elmore Leonard “Westlake at his best: intriguing, fast moving . . . Ends with a slam-bang climax.” —Los Angeles Times Praise for Donald E. Westlake “Westlake has no peer in the realm of comic mystery novelists.” —San Francisco Chronicle

Synopsis Spirit of Adventure by : Alvin Townley
An extraordinary journey alongside America's new generation of Eagle Scouts, who are discovering their purpose and bringing the values of Scouting to the world. Over the past century, Scouts have helped to guide the course of American history. But what does Scouting and the Eagle badge mean to the Scouts of today? How will they shape the future of Scouting and America itself? In Spirit of Adventure, Scouting expert and Eagle Scout Alvin Townley finds the answer. Townley traveled across the country and to the far corners of the globe to meet these young Eagle Scouts. He found them everywhere, continuing the life of adventure and service that they had begun in Scouting. He discovered them in Afghanistan providing medical care to villagers, in Australia saving coral reefs, at the Super Bowl and Olympic venues striving for victory, on desert cliffs and at inner-city schools teaching new lessons, in Africa bringing hope to children, and on the windswept deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz preparing for takeoff. Whether doctors, activists, servicemen, entrepreneurs, or teachers, these young men are changing the world through bold actions that capture the essence of the Scouting tradition. In Spirit of Adventure, Townley answers important questions about the future of Scouting and America, while revealing stories of service, courage, and pure excitement that introduce our nation to an inspiring new generation of leaders.
